Burger King — Restaurant in Swannanoa

These stars only reflect my interaction with Tinisha, the drive-through employee. Otherwise I would give 3 out of 5.

I stopped at my BK here in Swannanoa, NC around 9pm on April 15 2017. It was clearly busy and there was some kind of problem with their Co/drink machine. I went through the drive-through where Tinisha took my order and served me at the window. I called and spoke to the manager (I threw away my receipt before I called) and want to make sure that Tinisha understands that I recognized how hard she was working. The other people I could see (FOH) were goofing off and shouting/laughing while she was trying her hardest to hear the intercom system. She had to ask the manager to to quiet them down. All of my food was being cooked to order so I sat at the open window for a few min... long enough to truly see how hard she was working.

I work at a restaurant in the next town over, Black Mountain. My income is based on tips and my shifts are based on how I am received by our customers. Luckily for me I love being a server, have great customers, as well as a owner who rocks and managers who are awesome. As a result I am able to be a single mom who can afford to raise my 12 year old (and soon to be newborn) with no help from child support...I am grateful for my job in these hard times.

I can tell that Tinisha enjoys her her job too. Although I'm sure that her pleasent customer interactions are few and far between. But even with fellow staff members making too much noise, equipment that wasn't working, and a line around the store she never gave me any guff. Even though she had to dump and remake my Coke (I can't have ice, I have extremely sensitive teeth) she did so with a smile. You have no idea how many people have given me the death glare/eyerolls for asking for my drink to be remade. Even at high end restaurants I've been given attitude (and yes, I always ask for no ice when I order).

I'm sure there are people who will think this is a long-winded statement. I'm willing to bet that those same people have never worked in food service and will never understand why such a simple compliment would mean so much to the person receiving it (as well as the person giving the compliment). Especially at a crappy fast food joint. This young woman deserves to be recognized not only from me but from her employer as well.

There is a lot of noise being made about fast food employees making 15 dollars per hour. I support this idea for employees like Tinisha. The restaurant will be able to employee more people like Tinisha which will in turn give the restaurant more satisfied customers like myself! Think about it, if they were making a living wage they would want to be good at their job, happy to be there, and be surrounded by others who feel the same way. That's how I feel about my own job... even through the dead season (Dec-March) I am able to support myself. This is because of my customers being able to tip me.

I recently moved to the Black Mountain/Swannaowa area from Weaverville and this BK is about a 5 min drive from my new home and its omw way home from work so I decided to give this BK a try having been sworn off from the 1 in Weaverville and the other BK on Tunnel Road just up the street from my job due to poor food quality, unreliable customer service, rude employees and overall just tired of getting home to find out (too many times to count) that my order was made incorrectly or half my order was missing from the bag due to the employees getting flustered or try to go too fast and get caught up and begin shoving food in bags to throw it out. I got so fed up with it I had all but sworn off from eating at ANY BK until I decided to see what this location had to offer and I'm very happy and proud to say that I am once again happy and glad that I can get my BK back on again... BK has been a childhood fave that has stuck with me and I'm 33 now and love it still... this store is amazing I've been at least 10 time in the past month and I've gotten exactly what I ordered each time and my food is fresh and well made not just thrown together and wrapped up but done correctly in a timely fashion... Hey guys Big King Reviews here, reviewing another Burger King fine establishment. First of all before we begin the zesty sauce did not fail to dissapoint. Now that we have that out of the way, we can get on to the review, the first thing I noticed was the great customer service. The cashier and every one there greeted me with a smile. I ordered the classic chicken fries and classic they were. Delicious chicken with a crispy coating and the honey mustard ties it all together. The fries were of course light and golden except the ketchup was out, what a fail! The other thing I noticed was the watery Dr. Pepper, that deserves at least minus one star. But now you may be wondering, "Big King , why did you rate this fine establishment five stars?" And to you I say, it's all in the name. Just stop and think about it " Burger King " they don't lie, they really are the king at burgers, some even say that they put the B in Burger. Well that's all for today folks, Big King...
