During my recent visit to The Lazy Beagle Grill & Pub in Sweetwater, I found myself enveloped in a refreshingly cool vibe that pervaded the bustling establishment. Even amidst what could only be described as a chaotic evening, the staff's attentiveness stood out, ensuring that every guest felt looked after, despite the constant hustle.

The culinary journey began on a high note with the spicy honey cheese bites recommended by our friendly server. These delightful appetizers were a perfect blend of sweet and savory, enhanced by a spicy kick that tantalized the taste buds. The accompanying marinara sauce added just the right touch of tanginess, making these bites the highlight of the meal.

As the main course arrived, I was eager to delve into the House Favorite brisket grilled cheese. While this dish was adequate, it unfortunately didn’t quite capture the magic of the appetizers. It was pleasant but lacked that special something to elevate it beyond just being 'good enough'.

The meal took a disappointing turn when it came to dessert. Opting for something sweet to go, I was surprised to find the caramel pound cake to be nothing more than shrink-wrapped Sara Lee poundcake portions with some prepackaged ice cream. It was a stark contrast to the freshly prepared dishes we started with. The strawberry banana caramel sauce that came with it, although fine in taste, could not make up for the overall letdown of the dessert.

They do seem to have a nice rooftop patio as well, but the lack of cover from the elements can prove problematic in inclement weather. This was especially true for several patrons with large party reservations who found themselves at the mercy of the rain preventing them from dining.

In conclusion, The Lazy Beagle Grill & Pub certainly has its charms with standout appetizers and commendable service. However, if you're planning to visit, it might be wise to steer clear of dessert and check the weather if you're hoping to enjoy the rooftop patio. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant still offers a lively atmosphere and tasty food that mostly hits the mark, making it a worthy spot for a night out...

I wanted to like this place and went in with high hopes for it but it was just a disaster from start to finish. When we got there we realized how unorganized the line to wait for tables was and we were quickly cut in line. When we finally was able to put our name on the list they forgot to write down our number and eventually just asked if we wanted a seat at the bar just so we could have somewhere to sit. We placed our order and then felt like ghost as our waitress walked back and forth in front of us as if we didn’t exist. We noticed an order that matched ours sitting on the window of the kitchen complete and sat there for over 10 minutes before we mentioned it to the waitress who said there was nothing she could do without a ticket but went and checked eventually. It turns out that was our food so they sent it back to be quickly reheated which made some of the food close to inedible and as it came back out from being reheated I witnessed another waitress grabbing all over my fries with her bare hands and telling the cooks it was still cold to heat it again. At this point I was so disgusted by the food I could not enjoy it and was ready to just leave. The food we finally did receive was just ok nothing special and probably would have been better if not reheated but did not make up for the terrible experience. Wish I could recommend to a friend but instead I have to advice to avoid this place until they get...

Very Rarely do I ever make reviews on places. Everyone has their opinion so to me reviews can be one sided. That being said we walked in to this packed establishment thinking it would take hours to be seated as there wasn't a seat open. We were seated within 7 minutes by our server Carmen. We started off with an appetizer, Spicy Honey Cheese Balls. The flavor that hit my mouth was nothing short of bliss, the sweetness of the honey, the savory cheese, the sauce that added such a perfect undertone and a light heat to round it off. It was nothing short of perfect. We were then brought our Entrees, Wildcat pasta. Again nothing short of amazing. A tender pasta with chicken, sausage, and shrimp in a wonderful cream sauce was to die for. Nothing overpowered the other and I felt as though every bite had flavor making me come back for more. We finished up with the banana and Strawberry Shortcake which was an extraordinary sweet treat to top off meal, it wasn't an overpowering sweet like most places love to serve.

My only complaint I could possibly have is they were out of bread pudding which I've heard is also big hit. If it can outdo the desert I had today then I can only imagine why.

We really appreciate Carmen's performance and professionalism. I hope this place stays in business and I can guarantee if they keep serving with such flavor and efficiency, they will become the staple...

We were visiting from the Chicago area and had such a great time catching up with our friend—there was so much laughter, delicious food, and dangerously good adult beverages that I completely forgot to take a photo of our main entrĂ©e. Blame it on the good times (or the cocktails
probably both). We kicked things off with fried green tomatoes and pickle chips—crispy, crunchy, and totally addictive. The batter was light, seasoned just right, and basically the appetizer version of a standing ovation. Perfect pairing with our expertly crafted cocktails. I mean, let’s be honest—day drinking feels like a personal award ceremony when you’re on vacation. I think my husband and I shared the grilled Mahi Mahi
but whatever it was, it was delicious and we were totally impressed. (Again, thank you cocktails.) But the real showstopper? The bread pudding. It was like custard dressed up in bread’s clothing—soft and spongy with a creamy flavor that made us swoon. The bread added just the right amount of texture to that rich, sweet, flavor-packed bite. Dessert goals. The service? Fantastic. Everyone was friendly, funny, and made us feel like regulars. The vibe is casually elegant and warmly welcoming—like your stylish friend who also gives great hugs. A gem of a restaurant in this charming little town—absolutely worth the detour.

Our group from Dominion Senior Living had the pleasure of dining at The Lazy Beagle in Sweetwater, and we couldn’t have been more impressed! For many of our residents, it was their first time visiting — and it definitely won’t be the last. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. We especially want to highlight Elijah, our waiter, who went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and cared for. His kindness, patience, and attentiveness did not go unnoticed and made our lunch truly special. Thank you, Lazy Beagle, for such a wonderful experience. Our residents are already looking forward to coming back! — Dominion Senior Living
