Hink's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sycamore Township

What a downfall of previously great service. Hink's used to be my favorite bar to go, for the very rare occasion I do go out. Recently I was there and was treated with the utmost disrespect by both "servers", we sat down, put in order for our beer and other beverages, so far so good... until, we've been waiting for over 15 minutes to put in a complaint about our flat, dishwater tasting beers. I couldn't even drink beyond a sip of it with fear of getting sick. I asked try to get the servers attention politely by saying, "excuse me" but had to resort to do this multiple times. The one lady finally responded and said giver her a second, which I did, she was clearly busy with typical duties. However, this second spanned to about another 3 mins of waiting and the two of them gossiping behind the bar while my party is waiting for service. She finally gets to the table and asks, what do we want? Who responds that way to paying customer??? I said i don't want to pay for a disgusting flat beer nor do I want to pay for faulty service. She was so extremely rude, my party and I decide to leave the business. Never giving us our check on top of it! We leave and they follow us out screaming at us to pay the vodka tab. We of course oblige with the request because the mixed drink was fine, despite being only juice..., we still pay. The sheer lack of proper customer service was astonishing, especially on a "slower night". I'm so disappointed in the service I was given last night and don't believe I'll be visiting this establishment again. I rally hope they reconsider who they have working on it and not have people who will just immediately lash out a patrons. I can't express enough how polite my party was during this interaction either, we only used "thank you[s], excuse me[s], please[s]" I always try to be as polite as I can to service workers because I know it's not an easy to job to deal with people, let alone deal with intoxicated people. But we weren't drunk, Hink's was the first stop of our journey's...

Been goin to PJ's down the street for years, just needed a change. Read the reviews and went in on my way home from Corn Fest '17. Bloody Mary was top shelf! From scratch not a mix. Side salad was super fresh 'n actually too big a portion! A nice suprise. Ordered a regular old cheese burger that was AMAZING! fresh patty cooked to absolute perfection, fresh toppings crisp lettuce. Daughter got cheese filled bread sticks fab! Wife and son got salad that they loved. We will be back for sure! Keep up the great work!... It is obvious someone who really likes food is in the kitchen.

UPDATE: Went back one week later, 9/2/16...I had the exact same 10oz. Cheese Burger and guess what it was still PERFECT!!! I also had a bloody mary with bar alcohol and it was even better, probably b/c different person made it. Both were top-shelf from scratch quality....

They're pretty cool when it comes to the type of people you run into there. Always some kinda pretentious type of hippie or frat crew there, but then you get the bikers, the locals and the passer-bys as well. And it all works!!

The food is out of this world!! Had the Chicken wrap and normally I detest wraps. But OMG!!!! While I don't identify as any kinda food pro, this was just friggin amazing. HUGE amount of chicken in there, like SOOOOO much, I ate at the bar and anything I asked for (like a gallon of ranch) they produced. And beer. I'm simple with my beers, but they have all the crazy flavored beers you could want. From dirt to grapefruit to good ole MGD.
