Went in to pick up a surprise bag from too good to let go that was advertised by them on the platform as having a retail value of 18$ the retail value of the 4 donuts in the surprise bag was 13$ and they refused to give me more donuts to make up for the false advertising. These 4 donuts when bought fresh total 13$ before tax. I was told I was getting 18 dollars worth of donuts for 5.99 and was expecting 7 to maybe a whole dozen according to the pricing of there dozens AND THE FACT IM SAVING THESE DONUTS FROM TRASH CAN!!! INSTEAD they GAVE ME A SURPISE BAG OF PETTINESS THEY ARE GOING TO THROW THESE DONUTS AWAY IS IT OUT OF SPITE BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES USED TK KEEP EM ? just took advantage of a platform and told me they regularly only put 4 donuts in a surprise bag even though they know it's suppose to be worth 18$ AND OFFERED NO SOLUTION WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT THE BUISINESS PRACTICE OF HYPER INFLATING THE PRICE OF DONUTS BOUGHT TO SAVE THEM FROM THE TRASH... DO THE MATH EVEN IF THEH WERE ALL LEGENDARY 3.69X4=14.76 add tax and your still a couple bucks short of a 18$ value 🤔 this was my first time ans last time at this donut place I see how buisiness treats people and it shouldn't be my job to catch them ripping off ans dodging taxes by claiming bigger losses.... legendary tax evasion or legendary ripoff or legendary hyper inflated dough prices, the price of tea in china

I swear when the girlfriend and I first stepped foot in this place, you would have thought we have never gone anywhere before. It was so cool! Earlier this morning I got a haircut and was craving a doughnut afterward so the first original doughnut shop we went to (which will remain nameless) was more than disappointing, so we left empty handed. I went in somewhere else to get a coffee and when I came back out, the girlfriend told me to look at her Google maps and drive there. I didn't know where we were going but shoot, I'm always down for these kind of adventures. Ten minutes later we parked on the street and I see through this big clean window a million kind of doughnuts. I was pumped! Now, reference the first paragraph, that's when Nicole and Celeste of this fantastic shop greeted us. The girlfriend and I were just ridiculous cause we were taking everything in and both Nicole and Celest were just letting us have a field day in there. They answered all our doughnut questions, were very nice talking with us, and just had good energy. And, also, mostly importantly, they have pup friendly doughnuts! We were tickled going here and highly recommend it. One of the pictures I posted is Brutus, our pittie, enjoying his pup doughnut. Side note, the girlfriend and I got the same look on our face right before we bit into ours. :)

Initial Impression: ⭐️⭐️ End of Day Reflection: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Initial Impression 👁️ Don't online order the pre-selected dozen. Despite all the beautiful and unique doughnuts on the site, they only delivered the plainest and most unimaginative assortment, which could have come from anywhere—not even one rainbow sprinkle or splash of color was contained in the entire lootbox! And yet, this is what staff and customers consider top favorites, so... it must be a mirror to our own ailing creativity and whimsy, as a people. Fun is dead. Playfulness is dead. All despair, I have seen the death of the human spirit, and it is glazed in shades of beige. Probably tastes okay though. EDIT: In five minutes, my partner took the most boring looking one and made it a million times more fun (fruit cereal syrup and chocolate rice cereal added) --- End of Day Reflection 👅 Adding a Star, because I was humbled by these exceptionally tasty toruses, their rich flavor, their *mouthfeel.* I have grown wiser, and thus impart these Words... ⚪️ Don't Judge a Book by its cover ⚫️ Remember to include something for the Kooky Black Sheep of the family 🔴 What makes a True Hero is not the size of their strength, but the strength of their Heart 🔵 What separates a villain from a Super Villain? Presentation!

A Delightful Dawn at Legendary Donuts Tacoma

The exhilarating aroma of fresh, hot donuts wafts through the air, even before the first rays of the sun grace the Tacoma skyline. Yes, you've guessed it right. We are talking about the perennial favorite and local icon - Legendary Donuts in Tacoma.

Opening bright and early at 6 AM, Legendary Donuts proves to be a blessing for early birds and morning commuters. It's a place where the freshness of the morning blends seamlessly with the goodness of lovingly crafted donuts. The remarkably friendly staff seems perpetually ready, donut magic at their fingertips, even at these early hours. They serve up delectable donuts with smiles as warm as the coffee they brew.

Speaking of the donuts, every bite is nothing short of heavenly. Each donut, so soft, airy, and fresh that it nearly melts in your mouth. Their enticing range of flavors is impressive, from classic glazes and chocolate to imaginative creations. Not to mention the legendary-sized donuts are an absolute must-try for any foodie!

Clean, comfortable, and imbued with a rustic charm, Legendary Donuts feels cozy, almost like a home away from home. The walls are adorned with fascinating bits of local history, and the windows open up to beautiful Tacoma mornings.

But there's something more to Legendary Donuts that keeps the locals and even tourists flocking in, and it's not just their remarkably delicious donuts or the delightful morning vibe. It's the sense of community and camaraderie. The early morning chatter, the friendly banter with the staff, the shared smiles over coffee – these create an ambience that is nothing short of magical.

In essence, Legendary Donuts is not just a donut shop. It's an experience, a Tacoma tradition, a sweet start to your day. Whether you're an early riser ready to take on the day or someone just seeking comfort in a deliciously warm donut, you'll find it here. Legendary Donuts is definitely a place where the day begins on a positive note, one delightful donut at a time.

So, here's to the mornings in Tacoma, made even more glorious by Legendary Donuts! Get there early; you're in...

I have never been so offended while buying donuts!! The girl behind the counter was a steady level of rude with each guest in her shop, and seemed thoroughly annoyed to be serving donuts. I would also like to note that this was my first time trying Legendary Doughnuts, and because of the awful experience that she provided, it will be my last.

Whenever I made the comment that I had never been before and that I was uncertain of what to order, she just scoffed and told me to get her when I am ready. She barely even explained the difference in "legendary doughnuts" and "amateur doughnuts". There was so greeting when we walked in, no suggestions made, or any real servicing at all for myself or surrounding guests. She made me feel like she didn't want bothered and that is the last thing any guest wants to feel like when they are trying to treat themselves. At this point, I just wanted a simple donut and to leave. So, I decided on a couple for myself and my husband. She hastily gathered them, proceeded to give me a horrible attitude, and didn't even thank me for coming in. The only reason I committed to paying $20 for 2 doughnuts and a coffee is because cravings are real and I didn't feel like dealing with her attitude if I changed my mind and left.

Adding to all of this, my husband and I decided to stay in and eat. We watched her have the same attitude towards other guests and watched one family just leave. The seating area was FILTHY and the stereo playing was anything but family friendly for the kids walking in on a Sunday after church... I am honestly so disgusted and annoyed by this experience.

The donuts were not...

When I first moved to Tacoma I actually went around and tried most of the doughnut shops in the area and today was visit 4 (which is three too many) for Legendary and it really lands firmly in the ok but not good or great category. Certainly not Legendary. It goes for the BIG impression while failing to make a noteworthy base product. There's nothing wrong with their dough but when you go for oversized the bite to fluff ratio is wrong. There also becomes a doughnut to frosting ratio problem that I don't think can be solved. Their solution is excessive doughnuts need excessive frosting and toppings but the result is an overwhelming amount of goop on an overwhelming piece of fried bread. This creates an unpleasant texture They also have the sweetest doughnuts of potentially any shop I visited to the point of being sickeningly sweet. Their vanilla frosting tasted like sugar and had no vanilla character to it. Vanilla is a delicate aromatic and I don't know if they are adding it too soon and cook it out or the sweetness of the frosting just drowns it out.

I also ordered a mocha from them and I'm not getting any chocolate in it, just low quality coffee. They also didn't actually steam the milk, they just dropped the wand in so no air was actually added so the mouthfeel wasn't there.

The shop has been empty all four times I've been in and the staff are ok but not that friendly. The space is an old craftsman style house that feels uncared for and comes off as cold and unwelcoming. Some updating, both inside and out might actually help...
