If you love communism, you'll love this place. There is a giant notice on their menu that says they steal the tips from their servers to make a living wage for the rest of their employees. In other words, "we're communists and we want you to know." The food was ok. They bring in their bread from an outside bakery, and this is the staple of their menu. Which is interesting, the bread is clearly in the forefront of the menu, and since they have already told us they're communists, it makes you wonder if they're simply trying to get you ready for bread lines. Outside of the bread, the trout was so salty I couldn't eat more than half of it.

Overall, my wife and I were so turned off by the upfront communism that we will not be back. But hats off to the balloon bakery (the place they bring the bread in from) for their outstanding bread. It's so good I would almost stand in...

This place is the best! Amazing, unique cocktails. Curated wine selection. Fun, creative, and original plates. The waitstaff was helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. The atmosphere was cozy and quaint. I could easily spend hours here sipping cocktails, having some nosh, and relaxing.

We had the salmon tartine; it melted in our mouth (shout out to the pastry chef for the rhubarb toast). And the tomato, ricotta, cucumber salad was a fresh and unique twist on a caprese. Not to mention the roasted peach for dessert: simply divine. It’s clear this place knows how to do farm-to-table in a thoughtful and fresh way. Hats off to the owner and hospitality extraordinaire, Brian, who made us feel welcome and relaxed at this gem of a spot. We’ll definitely be back.

Seattle Times! Get here already! A stellar review is...

So happy to see this place come to full fruition after functioning as a bottle shop for the past year! I found out about Brian's Cool Wine Hang (wine club) through a friend and have been receiving it monthly throughout COVID. Each bottle is mindfully sourced, naturally produced, unique, and delicious. The wine club even comes with a monthly Spotify playlist! Highly recommend for yourself or as a gift. Drinking the wines throughout COVID made me so excited for Field Bar to finally open. When I went, I was blown away by the relaxed ambiance, rustic decor, friendly staff, good music, and delicious locally sourced food. Best of all, there is no pretentiousness - only warm and friendly...

I wish I could give ten stars! This bar is a one of a kind gem! It started as a bottle shop during Covid and was able to survive and finally open as a bar. The owner Brian makes this place so special. He is a fantastic mixologist and incredible knowledge about all of his wines. Now open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday so we had to check it out. Don’t Not Skip The Sourdough Bread With Blueberries and Ricotta!!! Better than any morning french toast you have ever had. You can come to this place and everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend for all that love great wine and crafted cocktails with a perfect cozy atmosphere.

My husband and I went to Field and Bottle and were impressed by how creative and well thought out the restaurant was. It gives European cafe vibes while serving up incredible food and creative cocktails. We got a few small plates and the corn risotto with crab which I could not recommend more! The sourdough with ricotta and jam is something I would get everyday if I could. Overall we feel like Tacoma has been missing this type of restaurant. It’s great to see that they partner with local farms to bring this quality of food to the community. We are super excited to see what other creative dishes they come up with in the future.

The best dinner I’ve had in Tacoma! We were so impressed by the incredible staff, beautiful food presentation, and delicious cocktails that we completely forgot to take photos. (I promise, it was gorgeous.) We cleaned every single plate. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at so many restaurants in Tacoma, and Field Bar truly stands out with some of the best food and service in town. We started with the Pickle Plate and Seared Summer Squash (holy, that was amazing), then moved on to the Ratatouille and Seared Queen Salmon. Every dish was stunning and full of flavor. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
