La Paloma is always such a fun and eclectic vibe, with shelves ornamented with everything from local baked goods and flowers, to unique jewelry, art, pantry items, magic potions (oils, candles, aromas, herbs, CBD) home goods and books (lots of which are published locally!) Molly, the store owner is great at making every customer feel seen, and helping out other small local artists/businesses, creating a very open and safe community space. I have popped up at Lazy Sunday (a recurring weekly event) with my own art and vintage clothes/homegoods; but the pop up lineup is a bit different every week, including flash tattoos, massage, tarot readings, and a wide variety of artists/art forms. I was also lucky enough to join in on a poetry reading at La Paloma, partnered with Blue Cactus Press, and was so excited to be a part of a shared literary space after years of writing alone.

They do donation drives, and organize the community when a neighbor needs monetary support to keep their lights on. La Paloma is a...

Their selection of merchandise is intentional with items from the greater Tacoma area and truly loved non-local items that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. I bought an amazing antique candle holder (my new center piece), local candles, my new signature perfume, and natural pesticides for an aphid infested plant. I’ve been by a few times and there’s always something new to see. Welcome to...
