Great place to come and sit for lunch and a few drinks with your pup and other dog lovers. Ordered the parmesan and plain chicken wings with a side of buffalo sauce, ranch and blue cheese dressing. The wings were both crispy and flavorful and some of the best I've had in Pierce County in a LONG TIME. There is a huge selection of local beers here with a few ciders, wine and a margarita that's just as good as a free pour. Do you like merch for your puppy with a good sense of humor? Well The Redd Dog has it with some cute bandannas and they also sell dog cookies and tennis balls for that good puppy. The service and atmosphere is a laid back place with a serve yourself taps and you order at the cash register for food that comes at a fast pace. New to The Redd Dog? I was today and Arturo my Cane Corso puppy just received a gift bag from the manager with some really cool items in it. If you are ever on 6th Ave and want to quench your thirst and have your pup along stop into The Redd Dog and enjoy a meal and a frosty beverage. Don't forget the free popcorn!

Such a cool concept; a place you can choose and fill/sample your own beer, wine and/or seltzer is freaking fantastic…and you only pay by the ounce! There’s a good selection of items on tap as well as sodas, just wish the beer selection was a little more varied—if you like IPA’s you’re in luck though. Food options are good—appetizers and shareable’s to entrees. We ordered loaded tots and nachos—paid extra money for extra cheese on the nachos, what we got were nachos pretty well sparse of any cheese. Upon asking if that was the extra we paid for the gal said yes…definitely save your money there. Tots were good though. FULLY self serve from pouring your own drinks to putting dishes in wash bins. Games to play. Good vibe.

The Redd Dog boasts immaculate service and what may be the best veggie sandwich in the city right now!

Having just moved to Tacoma from SeaTac my partner and I have been trying all the local spots and will definitely be repeat customers here. As soon as we walked in, Kaitlyn greeted us and offered a quick rundown of how their U-Pour system and bussing worked. She asked what we liked to drink and offered perfect suggestions to suit our tastes—I didn’t drink anything else!

Ordering was super straightforward with table QR codes and we appreciated that the tables weren’t sticky in the least. (We noticed that Kaitlyn was vigorously cleaning the space and was keeping things extremely tidy the entire time we were there.) We noticed a large group of folks playing D&D (with no small amount of jealousy) and a couple families with children, it was what you might expect for a Sunday late afternoon.

After many long minutes agonizing, we realized we lived close by so we didn’t need to order everything, despite how tempting it was. We ended up trying the Pretzel with Beer Cheese and Mustard, The Big Redd Pizza, and the Veggie Power Sandwich.

The Veggie Power Sandwich came out first and it was a revelation! The crustiness of the bread offered structural integrity without shredding the roofs of our mouths. The fillings were all delightfully fresh and tasty, though I will say it was a very wet sandwich (luckily they have the nice napkins at the table, and Kaitlyn had brought us plates). My favorite part was the roasted tomatoes—they were succulent, rich, and full of umami. The chips it came with were surprisingly light and not oily, offering a lovely hit of crunch in between mouthfuls of goodness. We wouldn’t order them alone, but did appreciate them with this sandwich. 10/10

The Pretzel came out piping hot and covered with more salt than I had ever seen on a single piece of food. Luckily it was incredibly easy (and kind of fun) to brush it all off, so no harm no foul. It was buttery and toasty, delicious on its own and drenched in their beer cheese sauce. Mustard can be kind of a throwaway but not here! Their mustard was flavorful and tangy in a way that kept us coming back for more. 8.5/10

The Big Redd Pizza had not one but two tough acts to follow, and made a respectable showing. It was immediately apparent how fresh and clean it tasted, despite being hearty and, well, pizza. The crust is more the pillowy sort, the tomato sauce is bright and zingy, and the cheese was plentiful and stretchy. Not particularly remarkable, but an undoubtedly well executed pizza. 7.5/10

Overall I would definitely recommend The Redd Dog! No doubt we’ll be making a nuisance...

Pour Your Heart Out at Redd Dog, Tacoma: A Playful Pub Experience!

It's a place that is masterfully redefining the meaning of a pub, a veritable haven where one can unwind, converse, laugh and of course, savor an impressive array of self-poured beers.

Perhaps the most unique feature of The Redd Dog is the innovative 'pour-your-own' beer tap system, a concept that adds a dash of DIY fun to your typical brew experience. The selection of beers on tap is expansive and diligently curated, catering to a wide array of palates. From the hop-heavy IPA lover to the devotee of subtly nuanced lagers, everyone has the freedom to pour their perfect pint. It is not just the freedom to pour at will but the element of choice and interaction that makes this experience both engaging and memorable.

The warm lighting, the rustic interiors, and the quirky, dog-themed dĂŠcor all contribute to creating an environment that feels like a cheerful, inclusive community rather than just another pub. the Redd Dog has undeniably nailed the 'fun vibes' factor, making it a great place to visit for a casual night out or a special celebration.

Adding to the charm is the plethora of board games that The Redd Dog has on offer. ALMOST LOCKED IN OVER NIGHT

EDIT: this was meant for the Puyallup location but I didn’t realize there were two.

It’s a cool spot. I did have some issues. First was when you get there someone tells you to order on your phone and they’ll bring the food to your table. Ok I don’t have a problem with this at all. However, when I tried to order on phone it adds an automatic service tip that I can’t adjust. So while I literally wanted to tip I couldn’t even adjust to pick my own amount and would’ve given more on there. Therefore I just ended up walking to the register and ordering there because then you’re not forced into a set amount. While walking back to the register isn’t a big deal in general, the staff were annoyed with me for ordering up there. My other issue was that we went for a fun trivia night. However, the trivia is done on phones and I saw people in front of us looking up answers for their team. This is a bit of a letdown as the trivia is supposed to be a fun, see what you know time. It also means people playing fair don’t really have a chance of winning. Winning isn’t a big deal but still and I love going to trivia night at other places that don’t do it on phone as nobody is looking up answer. But my biggest issue is that I was almost LOCKED IN for the night. I didn’t realize it closed as soon as trivia was over. I thought I’d seen it was open for another hour. So when trivia ended I went to the bathroom. There were a couple people in there waiting so I came out 15 minutes later. All the chairs were stacked and the staff was utterly shocked that someone was still there. One of them told me they’d been about to lock the door for the night without knowing someone was still there. You’d think they’d check the bathroom. That being said I don’t like giving local businesses a bad review especially after only one visit. I do think this could be a fun spot to hang out at and it’s cool you can bring dogs and get them food too! I had pizza and I enjoyed that so that was cool! I recommend you try it out but be careful if you are...
