With so many businesses struggling during Covid, we chose to go to a local business tonight (6/30/20) for ice cream. You'd think that employees/owners would be happy for the business but as is usually the case for customer service in "downtown" Takoma Park, for $10 (!) for 2 small gelati (or gelatos?) we barely got a "hello" or god-forbid, a "thank you". We've lived in Takoma Park for 17 years and customer service has consistently been uneven at best. There are many places in TP that are friendly (Middle Easter Market, the Covered Market, Ace Hardware, the Magic Carpet and Roscoe's have always been very welcoming) but I'm always amazed at how so many of the businesses lack the most basic of sense of customer service in this town.
