Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin. My fiancé and me along with our two year-old son went to eat supper at this location tonight.
When we first approached, the hostess stand to be seated, our son was a little bit fussy because he was hungry, but nothing horrible, and the hostess told us “ Yeah, probably not the best place to bring a baby”.
I was a little taken back since Cracker Barrel is very well known for being a family Restaurant and we have always felt very welcomed and accommodated before. We were then sat at a table with no silverware and breakfast only menus, keep in mind. It was 5 PM. After waiting for our waitress for a while, we were able to waive another waitress down to obtain the correct menus and eventually get silverware. They were great about bringing the biscuits quickly so I could settle my son with something to eat temporarily, however, were very sporadic with taking orders, drinks, and asking for things four and five times .
I personally ordered the grilled chicken tenders, and the wait for the food was not bad. However, when we received our food, my chicken tenders were clearly burnt to the point where I could not even bite completely through it. Our waitress disappeared after bringing us our food and was not seen. At this point, we had to wave down the manager so that I could ask if I could please get a new set of chicken tenders since these were not Edible.
He obliged and quickly returned with another set of chicken tenders, however, continued to tell me that they were not burnt, the marinade they use for their tenders can sear on the grill that way, and that it should be expected. Keep in mind I have ordered their tenders on multiple occasions because I love the marinade they use for them. And I have never received any this burnt before. A simple we apologize for the inconvenience would have sufficed versus making me feel stupid for ordering a dish that supposedly supposed to come that way..
During our stay, there were also three different occasions of employees, dropping glass bowls, syrup bottles, and glasses within our vicinity, causing Glass to fall under our chairs and near my son. I understand accidents happen but three times within an hour of us being there is a bit much. I don’t necessarily blame the staff, but maybe the ones who are training them. They seem to be rushing and not thinking when they move resulting in additional accidents. Overall, it was just an unnecessarily stressful visit that I wish had gone differently. We have eaten at many different Cracker Barrel‘s and always had wonderful experiences. I hope they take this as constructive criticism to further work with their staff to increase training And work on customer...
Read moreTo start we were locked out of the door the staff was aware of us trying to get in and they ignored us. There were customers still inside checking out and walking around the gift shop. Once one of the customers walked out me and my sister proceeded to walk in. Staff met us with a we are closed greeting not a how may I help you. There was no hospitality. I informed them that I had a catering ordering that I was picking up. The cashier rolled her eyes. She was heavyset Caucasian black hair with festive paint on her face, I did not catch her name. The cashier next to her said let me check to see if your order is still here. She came back with the order and asked me how did I get in. I told her I walked in when a customer walked out. I told her that this was a big order and that I would not be turned around. She stated well you were supposed to pick it up at 1:30. The time that I arrived was 2:30. I told her because the order was refrigerated we did not know that we had to pick it up right at 1:30. She stating well we were scare of y’all for walking in(Me and my sister, two black females are scary apparently) I told her again we walked in after another customer left out because we spent 367 dollars on the order and we needed it for Christmas dinner. She then states that the website said that we were closing early. I stated that I didn’t see that on the site and on the day that I was picking up the food the site was down. She was very annoyed and wanted to question me about everything. I asked her why wasn’t given a courtesy call being that my phone number was attached to the order and they knew that this was a Christmas dinner catered order. She didn’t answer. She acted as if they just didn’t want to give us our food. I did not catch her name because of how upsetting the whole encounter was. She was a caucasian female, glasses, with a short hair cut. We trusted cracker Barrel with the dinner because my sister who was hosting dinner this year could not cook due to her lupus. We almost went without having it because some employees were annoyed with us and deemed us as a threat for no reason other than us being black and peeping through the door window. They saw us and gave us a oh well we are closed look. Once we got our order we were still not the last customers in the restaurant. There were still people inside. On top of that we received a chocolate chip pecan pie never heard of that in my apple pie still had apple skin...
Read moreI am NEVER eating at another Cracker Barrel again in my life because of the horrible experience I had at this location. Food was awful...it was the evening before Thanksgiving and the restaurant wasn't busy at that time (9pm). They were obviously busy at one point because almost every table had dirty dishes, cups, and silverware covering the tables .If was disgusting and the hour I was there, noone even started attempting to buss the tables and get the nasty dishes out the way. There was three other tables in there besides me and my mother and no employee, including the manager, cleaned those awful tables. I had been seeing the commercial for the Thanksgiving dinner and that's what I ordered..it was Disgusting!!!! First of all the plates came out in literally 4 minutes... obviously it was sitting there and was just popped in the microwave..my fried turkey dinner had no flipping turker, just breading...I would have gotten better quality meat at a Tom Thumb convenient store cafe. Also, was supposed to come with gravy. Apparently they were out of gravy that day (server didn't tell us) but she brought white gravy, which was Luke warm at best and didn't really compliment my breading. The green bean casserole was a joke, cold and it tasted like it had been sitting out for atleaat a hour. And why would it have fried onions on top of the casserole?!? I mean I didn't even have turkey in my breading. The mashed potatoes I didn't even attempt because they were cold..the kicker on the taters was the server asked me if I wanted gravy....I said yes initially...but I still had that nasty white gravy. I believe the worst part was the bread basket a person usually gets at cracker barrel...I got corn muffins with mine...they were burnt, literally black and I asked if I could get different ones because they were burnt and the server replied "if we have some, I'll try" Hold on. Wait. What!?! We called the manager over and he didn't seem like he had a clue as to what was going on just like the server. He did take my meal off though, so that's a plus. I have always enjoyed cracker barrel and the little gift shop. It's a good little experience...but this has literally ruined me ever ever going back to another one of their establishments. I emjoyed eating there while on the road, like I was tonight. I know you can do better Cracker Barrel..get...
