If I had it my way, hobbit definitely wouldn't be my first pick. but my kids love the place and don't always understand what horrible service consists of...there is hardly ever a manager available to assist on the floor. They are generally always in the office or outside doing who knows whatever leaving the servers and cashiers to basically run the front. I generally visit hobbit frequently because of their wing specials and I generally always have some type of issue so if it was any average day, I'd most definitely leave a 1 star BUT my recent experience blew me off of my feet. As always the server was just there because she was scheduled but when I had an issue, to my surprise there was a manager available. I had saw the young lady running around the store as if she was Sonic or something. Not only was she in the kitchen, she was taking phone orders as she ran the front counter assisting walk in guest and I definitely did not think that's she was a manager. I was stunned because I never see service like this. It's understandable that staffing is short so wait times are longer but it is ridiculous to wait nearly and hour for your food and then when it comes out it's cold. The server acted insensitive but the Manager Mika, when she came over after I requested management was VERY apologetic. She ensured me that she would get it right and she did just that. I heard her talking to the kitchen staff in a stern but nice manner, straight up asking them if they would send the cold item out to one of their family members....She definitely went above and beyond to make sure that my service was top notch the remainder of the time I was in the restaurant. She frequently checked on my table as well as other tables throughout the restaurant. She just seems like a fair manager and a great person to work with or for. I tried tipping her for her amazing service but she definitely refused it and suggested that I give it to the server. You don't find many people like that in customer service now a days. Read moreIn anticipation of a large order, I used the order pickup feature, in hopes of simplifying the order for the cashier. I did not submit the order, because I was at the business and did not know how long it would take for them to receive an online submission. As the cashier transcribed the order from my phone, his entry is visible on the screen in front of me, the customer. For this reason, I questioned incorrect entries and each time he assured me he'd keyed in the correct thing. I even described what it was I was ordering and for example he assured me that "hot" wings are "x hot" wings despite both formats from the same business. In another example, I questioned sour cream infused ranch vs ranch. Again, he waved me away. Of course when I received my food I had hot wings and regular ranch, in addition to another error made by the kitchen, but was entered correctly on the receipt. The other workers were very helpful in correcting the order, but when I brought the error to the attention of the original cashier, his response was, "I entered what was on your screen". Obviously not, and more importantly my attempts to correct you should have prompted you to make sure you were correct, not treat me like I dont know what I am ordering. I'm not providing this feedback for him to get in trouble, but as an opportunity for retraining. There is a difference between hot and extra hot as well as ranch and sour cream infused ranch. Be willing to learn so you know for future reference. Instructions cant get more simple than a customer providing a typed order. Read moreI go here quite often as I love the food. I walked in on Sunday with my gal, about 1pm. Ordered a beer for her and a Pepsi for myself. Now there was only 1 bartender which is not unheard of. She brought her beer and all of a sudden GONE? I figured maybe she needed to change the tank or something. Almost 10 min whent by & when I caught her attention she was seeing to someone . I very nicely inquired aelsebout my soda. She gave me the dirtiest look and said "I HAVE OTHER TABLES TOO" in the nastiest way possible. Mind you she never said anything earlier about being short handed which I would have understood. People get busy, I get that. However the way she went about it was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I paid for the 1 beer and went to waffle house for a smile and good service. I spent $2.50 at hobbit when I was ready to spend my usual $100 + on a good day eating and drinking there. Had she been even the slightest bit of professional I would have understood and waited patiently for anything. Because the way she snapped at me for her being overworked after lunch time. I find it real difficult to return here. I have been going there for the past 3 years & I spend upwards of $75 each time I go. However I was not going to be abused for something I didn't do.
