EDIT: I've unfortunately have to give an update to my review...after the wonderful husband and wife team retired the new ownership, staff, and food have dwindled in quality and care. I've been a loyal and consistent customer to this restaurant for years. I always get the house Pho and for the last 3/4 months they have been unable to serve it. Only offering rare beef, chicken, or seafood Pho. I have received the rare beef half frozen in the middle, inconsistency with getting cilantro, jalapenos, and onions every single order. I have been understanding and patient with how Covid has affected shipping and availability, but after asking today if they're ever putting the P1 back on the menu they said yes, just whenever they can find a supplier. The old owners never had these issues before and the server said the old owners got their supplies from Vietnam and that if I had any suggestions on where to get some they're all ears. I've never had a restaurant ask me where they could find their products! There are several other Pho restaurants in this area and none have supply issues like Red Snapper does. I have a feeling that it's not a lack of suppliers but a lack of initiative to find one. If the owner reads these reviews, I would hope this would be an eye opener not to just how his employees speaks with customers but to how the lack of service will eventually impact their business negatively. Once they have a system in order for getting produce they advertise to sell then I will be back.
Love love love this restaurant! Very fresh food, their pho soups are authentic and the best in Tallahassee. Seafood is killer and my bf can't get enough of their...
Read moreDisclaimer: I found Red Snapper because I typically Google/Yelp cuisines such as Cajun, Seafood, and Vietnamese.
Based on outwardly appearances, Red Snapper with it's rundown signage and being located in an isolated mini plaza on the edge of a Publix plaza can seem like the kind of restaurant to avoid.
However, due to its proximity to my work/home and desire to find a restaurant that fulfills both my cravings for Vietnamese and Seafood, I decided to give it a try.
I am so far pleasantly surprised with the pricing, quantity, and quality of food that I have eaten at Red Snapper. Also, the gentleman working the register provides above average customer service.
Both times I have eaten at Red Snapper were during lunch, where my colleague and I were typically joined by what appeared to be a few other regulars.
I have so far tasted the Phô Dac Biet (House Special including: Rare Steak, Beef Flank, Tendon, and Tripe), the Banh Mi Dac Biet (Pork Belly), and the Cha Gio (3 fried house-made egg rolls).
For the price of each item, the quality and quantity felt reasonable.
I will definitely return to try some of the seafood items (fried and boiled) that Red Snapper has to offer, but would certainly recommend Red Snapper to friends looking for a reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurant.

Read moreMy boyfriend and I often came to red snapper because of how high quality their Vietnamese dishes were such as pho, vermicelli noodles, or rice dishes. Unfortunately when we went today, that same quality that we would return to wasn’t there for us. It took so much longer to get our food (we waited for over half an hour) when it would usually only be 15 minutes and there was only us and two other customers at the time. We also noticed that the employees are completely different. Perhaps there is a new management in the place, but the quality of our food was horrible. Everything is served in to go boxes for dine in, but since I had pho, they asked if I needed a bowl. I received a bowl that is most likely a mixing bowl, but at a glance it didn’t seem like it was very clean there was some residue but I hoped for the best. The pho broth I had today was not the same. My boyfriend had ordered vermicelli noodles which were extremely short to the point that it’s impossible to pick up with chopsticks. The fish sauce that came with his noodles also tasted watered down. Right as I was about to toss out my pho, I found a hair in my meal. We used to come into red snapper with our hearts full, but now we won’t be coming back at all. Thank you for the past memories...
