Whataburger — Restaurant in Tallahassee

I went to this Whataburger tonight at 10:00PM. I had just left another fast food place where I didn't end up getting food due to a bad service. I only mention this because I was somewhat irritable, and it just made my experience that much better. Anyways I pull up to the drive thru, the woman taking orders greeted me super quickly and accommodated my order. Already off to a better start, and making me question my life decisions as to just not come here first. I always get either a patty melt or a sweet & spicy burger, but with only one patty. I know there's probably not a way to ring that up, and I don't mind paying the full price, I just only want one patty. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I was still expecting to get two patties on my burger, because it usually happens even when I ask, plus like I said, I was a little grumpy. But the woman working said she would tell the kitchen. I figured if anything I would just have to pull off the second patty, no biggie. I pull up to the window and the woman who took my order was there and she was just very friendly and efficient. And she actually told the kitchen that I only wanted one patty, and for the first time I think ever, I got my burger with only one patty. I know it's something so simple, but it made my night. I had a long, hard day at work, I was so hungry as I hadn't eaten all day, and I just had one failed attempt at getting food, so her actually going out of her way to communicate to the kitchen was greatly appreciated. I just wish I got her name to leave it in the review.

So there was a lady that walked around with a tray and a whataburger jr on it. They had no clue who ordered it. There were only 4 tables filled. She asked around ---- no one claimed the burger. She gave it to the lady in the blavk shirt who simply began to unwrap it. I dont know what happened after that because we were already walking out.

10 minutes before ....another young man carried an identical order and gave it to the lady at the table next to us.

I can only assume that someone made the same order twice. Delivered one order, didnt "follow up" and they were left with the duplicated order.

Why is this relevant to the rating I gave this restaurant?

Because my Grandmother, daughter and I placed our order: "Let me have a number 1 with no mayo and with toasted buns. My daughter will have the just-a-burger kids meal with ony cheese and ketchup ----- nothing else. And I will have the number 1 with cheese."

What did we get? TWO orders of the number 1 with no mayo and NO toasted buns. 1 kids meal burger with MUSTARD, cheese and ketchup. And a THIRD order of the number 1 meal with cheese.

It's the little things that makes a restaurant an EXCEPTIONAL place to eat. But all of the above are not little things. It's a waste of food ---- which not only cost ME to spend extra money on food that I never ordered but also it cost the restaurant owner to LOSE money on that other that was made & not claimed by anyone. How many times do these mistakes happen through out the day?

There are roaches in this restaurant. One fell from the ceiling right in front of my face and landed on the front counter while I was ordering! The cashier saw it and pushed it onto the floor behind her with the number tents! I was like this is bad…. Food arrived at my table cold with an order of HOT onion rings for breakfast that I did NOT order. Guess my food got cold waiting for onion rings I didn’t order. Had them remake my taquito because it was ice cold. Condiment guy delivered my food and did not have napkins or ketchup. Wtf? This is an old restaurant that probably has not had a remodel since the 90s. Only redeeming quality is that the people who work here are very pleasant and are clearly doing the best they can. Went for dine in breakfast around 9am on a Saturday and the place was slammed. Dunno if that is why the food was so terrible but it just was not very good and the service was chaotic. Disappointed as the last time I went to a Whataburger in Tallahassee it was like the BEST Whataburger I ever had! Should have gone there!

Update: when I went to leave the restaurant, I asked the condiment guy for a lid for my coffee. He said he would have to get a manager. I said can you just give me a coffee lid one of those ones right there and pointed at them. Got coffee lid. Lol wut? Also feeling absolutely sick to my stomach after eating that food.
