We live in the Houston area and for some reason there is only one Krispy Kreme franchise in the whole entire city and it is nowhere near where we live or work. So we were excited to see this location so near the interstate when we were coming back from our Florida trip. That was the only thing extremely positive that we can say. The hot now light was on when we pulled up and associate working the counter was busy on her headset with a drive-up order. She motioned and spoke softly for us to wait just a minute while she completed the order at the window. When she finish she asked what she can do for us and I asked her if they participated in the free donut when the hot now light was on on the Marquis and she said the light's not on and I turned around and looked and she was correct it was not on, she was correct. I said it was on when we walked in and she said well it's not on now and I said well it was on when we came in the front door and she said well the other associate is cleaning the conveyor system so it's not on now. I swear I understand I said but we waited for you, as you were completing the drive-up order and she said well the light's not on now and I said never mind, it's not worth arguing over a free donut. And I asked if they were doing the Christmas special donuts and she said no we're not doing those, it was the day after Christmas incidentally. So disappointing for us, but we wanted to get some of the blueberry cake donuts and they didn't have any of those either. So not the best overall trip to...
Read moreGoing home from an evacuation trip, I made a long detour up here from Apalachicola, I wanted some Ghostbusters special edition Krispy Kremes. I was worried because it is so hard for me, living on the Nature Coast, to get a Krispy Kreme. I get it once or twice a year. And when I get there, usually Gainesville, there is always a problem. Gainesville Krispy Kreme is full of HATEFUL people and has no drive thru. Here in Tallahassee, I had trouble understanding the person on the speaker; they sounded like they didn't have the order I already paid for online. I thought, here we go again. I pulled up, saw a young woman with a mask - oh brutha. But she was so nice and put the order together perfectly. And it is not that radical to wear a mask in a food environment, to be fair. Then I got to Walmart in Perry, and when I stopped my truck, my German Shepherd, who gets excited when I stop, jumped on the Krispy Kremes and smashed them. But they still look good. Better believe they taste good. She just destroyed Mr. Stay...
Read moreThis Krispy Kreme truly breaks my heart. used to always be able to count on hot donuts and a decent cup of coffee. it is gone down so far that I don't think it can ever recuperate. They are constantly out of any special donuts, eg. Halloween theme, while having signs all over the store promoting the special donuts. The "Hot Now" sign used to really mean that they were coming off the line. Now, they just put them back through the oil and reglaze it. It is very tough to eat one that's been through several times. My coffee from yesterday had so many coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup that I could have used it as a paperweight in a class one hurricane. It's a sad fall from Grace for in Atlanta institution. And trust me, I do know what I'm talking about because I have been going there for...
