I love this gem!!! First off I have been to this place over 30x in the years that I have been in the Tampa Bay area. I found it by a happy accident looking for a taste of my home town in Wilmington Delaware. There is a place of wonder called the Salty Barge and for generations they have served up simple but delicious seafood and it is the place to go if you know but still a neighborhood joint feeding the community that surrounds it. And that is what the Blue Sea Seafood market does with extreme prejudice and simple style. It smells like fish and it is supposed to the selection changes on a daily basis decided by a wizard at the market daily because only the freshest catch is on display here. Whole fish, check . Filets, check. An Asian restaurant, check. Is your fish or what ever you ordered cooked to order 🤔 hell yeah it is. I have brought family members here friends co workers and others looking for their seafood fix. And this place is the trap house for delicious simple but deliciously complex seafood. But the in-house made sauce and the genuine smiles and service are top notch 👌. Thank you for all the great meals me and my family have shared there and the great treatment 😀 👍 😋!!! If you have gotten to this point you have been great I have been Mike C and keep eating. A famous chef says if it looks good eat it. Ohh I need to recommend when you get a whole fish 🐟 do not and repeat do not go Filets do the whole fish head on!! I know that can creep some people out but you get every part of the fish and it is actually easier to eat my beautiful Nanny 😍 taught me that. Hey keep eating adventurous!! And the only box you end up in is your leftovers. I just trademarked that so you can't steal it....
Read moreThis is a surprisingly good seafood place if you dont mind the seafood market smell in the same space as where you order food and being somewhat in the hood. The parking is the worst if they're crowded, but they're crowded for a reason. I usually get the triple combo which is choice of fish, choice of two other types of seafood, so fried shrimp, fried clam strips, fried oysters, fried scallops, and a side of fries and hushpuppies. The fried oysters are so fresh and juicy its like they fry them right out of the shell. The shrimp are a nice size as well as it takes me two, sometimes 3 bites to finish one. And they give a nice portion of fried fish peices. I usually end up having my fish leftover for the next day where I eat it with rice and fresh diced tomatoes and soy sauce mixed with vinegar or lemon juice(pinoy style, lol) They also do some chinese food dishes like fried rice which I like to get the house fried rice because it has all the meats in there and its sort of like a fried rice you would make at home with diced carrots, sweet peas, and fried egg mixed in. I usually go about once a month, more if I have a sudden seafood craving. Its always worth the drive and the fight with traffic to get...
Read moreAdmittedly I don't get out much so my reviews may appear to be partial. It goes without saying that I am however, partial to courteous staff, good customer service, and ultimately good tasting food. That said, Blue Sea is officially a Fresh Sea Food Market which explains the interestingly outdated interior of the establishment. It is a fish market after all so my expectations were neither met nor exceeded, trust that I've seen worse. Nevertheless, what Blue Sea lacks in environment (as far as appearance is concerned) it excels in areas that matter. Blue Sea reminds me of the opening song for the 80s TV show "Cheers", it is nice to go to a place where everybody knows your name. The staff is always friendly, courteous and goes the extra mile in establishing a personal rapport with patrons like myself. The sea food is cooked to order and taste which is primarily the reason for my having been a regular of one of the best sea food joints in Tampa for the last year. While I enjoy (deep fried) Fish N Chips as much as anyone else, Broiled King Fish and Steamed Veggies is a personal favorite of mine. Fish on...
