Buddy Brew Coffee — Restaurant in Tampa

When coming to a Buddy Brew location, I usually expect a welcoming, relaxed environment and atmosphere, good service, and some pretty tasty coffee. What my partner and I experienced was almost none of this.

Atmosphere: When we walk in, we admire the location and atmosphere, but find it unusual that there was no seating.

Service Experience: As we walk up to the counter for the barista to take our order, she’s very to the point, doesn’t make eye contact, and is passive aggressive. She looks like she does not want to be working there. There was another barista who was otherwise polite and kind to me, so I decided to ask her a question, and she was open to responding, but when she turned to her coworker to finish answering, we were met with the other barista’s negative tone and lack of care.

Drinks: As the impolite barista handed my partner their drink, she said “Since the pumpkin is heavy, it does sink to the bottom, so you may have to grab a stir stick or straw to mix it in”. My partner was upset by this because they expected their drink to already be mixed in receiving the drink, and compared this experience to Dunkin. When I received my Mocha, I noticed the espresso wasn’t dialed in correctly, tasting burnt and very bitter, and I assure you that the overpowering taste was not the Mocha flavoring due to the gross espresso burned aftertaste.

If you’re looking for a new coffee experience, or have visited a Buddy Brew location before I would recommend sticking to those other locations, or finding other alternative local coffee shops in this area, as you’ll have a much better experience there with service, adequate seating, and quality of product. I hope this review is heard by staff and management, because frankly, I do enjoy the Buddy Brew environment and experience, and products as a whole, and would hate to see this location fall to turmoil if these issues are repeated towards...

from the moment i walked up and was greeted it was phenomenal. Nicole was able to take my order through the hustle and bustle of the morning rush with a smile and care. Felicia made my food order so fast and it was simply amazing! i had the classic def recommended they even gave me extra orange slices! clara was the star of the show whipping out lattes and coffees with precision and speed i haven’t even seen at starbs, she was so sweet and kind to everyone as they watched her put a steamed milk heart on every order.
