It's interesting how the little things can turn you away from a business. First time to this establishment. The parking was not easy. I go inside and place my order. Place looks fine, place where moms come during the later morning and gather. I noted how there was outdoor/ sidewalk seating. After placing my order I go back to my car to get Bella my dog while my order is being prepared with all intentions of utilizing the outdoor seating area. As i go inside and my order is ready the girl which handed me my order tells me, "no dogs". I yet haven't even grabbed my coffee still standing at the counter not even seated. Was very off putting. I would say that most dog owners are pretty much aware that in restaurant and food establishments dog are usually not allowed. So for this girl telling a grown adult such a comment was rude and uncalled for. In addition there was a young boy with this group of moms who had a dog...

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about this place and decided to finally give it a try. I've been twice, the first time ordering a coffee and trying their pastries, which were excellent. The second time, I tried a variety of their empanadas (beef and eggplant). The empanadas were supposedly how they became well known after beating Bobby Flay in a competition. The presentation was beautiful and artsy, but it lacked substance, meaning not a lot of meat/filling. When I took a bite, it was mostly air/empty with little meat inside. It was disappointing considering what little filling I did get, was very good. I'm used to empanadas packed with filling, flavor and less "showy." The cafe is cute and located off of Manhattan in a small plaza. There's outdoor and indoor seating and seems like a nice spot to either read a book or catch up on work. Will def. be returning for the...

I recently tried Chef & The Baker South Tampa. Here’s what I thought.

Atmosphere: Chef & The Bakery has a beautiful indoor and outdoor space. The inside space was bright and inviting. They have ample indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio to sit at and enjoy your food. It’s a great place to sit outside with your dog!

Restrooms: They have a single bathroom. It was nice and clean.

Service: We were welcomed right away by their friendly staff. Our service was quick and efficient.

Food: I tried their ‘Kouign Amman’ which was a fluffy pastry filled with apricot jam. It was savory and sweet. It was soooo good. All their bakery items are made fresh and are sold until they’re sold out. So get here early to have the best choice of items. I had a cappuccino which was sooo good.

I will definitely be back because everything here looks amazing!

Decided to try Chef and the Baker after seeing it featured on Fox 13's Charley's World. It did not disappoint. Empanadas were DELICIOUS! The dough was flaky and perfect and stuffed with filling from the first to the last bite. They have a wide variety of different kinds of empanadas. They were out of the pizza one, so we will have to come back to try it. The donuts were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. All baked goods looked delicious. They have a variety to pick from, loved they had more than the basic cakes, pies, cookies. Variety of different kinds from different countries. The atmosphere is quiet, calm and perfect for studying or getting work done! The cherry on top was when Chef handed me a bag, with thank you for visiting and giving us a try! We will be returning and when I'm in South Tampa, I will make sure I swing thru for some delicious food.
