Down Thai Town — Restaurant in Tampa

WORST THAI FOOD IN TAMPA and the SERVICE is EVEN WORSE! Called in an order at 8:45pm for pad thai, drunken noodles, tom kha, & app combo (spring roll, coconut shrimp, wings). I was told the order would be ready in 1hr. Seems kind of long but good thai food deserves patience. Showed up as directed. The one man show was in the weeds - deep. He asked for cash or zelle despite having a credit card machine and prioritized all his delivery orders. My order was finished at 10:30pm, nearly two hours after I called it in. Meanwhile, I enjoyed an Arepa and a cocktail from another food truck. On my way home, I got a call from Down Thai Town informing me that he forgot to make the app sampler and could I come back to pick it up... No apology. No discount. No problem, IF the food would have been amazing. It wasn't even edible! THIS IS THE WORST THAI FOOD I'VE EVER TASTED. The noodles were inedible - pasty dry. I recently visited Down Thai Town Food Truck, and I was blown away by the incredible flavors and quality of the food. The dishes are fresh, and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the Pad Thai and the Red Curry – both were cooked to perfection and packed with just the right amount of spice. Of course you have to try the veggie spring rolls! He cooked the food fresh so it’s worth the wait for a one person gig, making it a great spot for a delicious meal on the go or a late night chill out spot.

The outdoor seating area is cozy and inviting, with beautiful string lights that add a warm and charming touch, especially in the evening. I like the area it’s in, it’s very cool down to earth vibes. I ordered for the first time here late night right before they closed they explained to be that due to it being right before they closed they only had red curry. I don’t really like red curry but I gave it a try. Got home food was freshly hot the basil rice was really good but I didn’t like the red curry. The next day I wasn’t really expecting this but they called just to make sure that my experience was good the night prior which it was except I didn’t like the curry, the guy offered me to come back and get a green curry and rice on them. So I took him up on the offer and I loved every bit of the meal from the green curry to the rice to even their spring rolls. A little pricey but you get your worth!
