El Diamante Restaurant — Restaurant in Tampa

Hubby and I went for a bike ride this afternoon. Blocks before getting home we decided to stop and get our favorite Mexican drink, horchata. Hubby than asked if I was up for tacos being it was lunch time as well. He received the order and off we happily continued home. Upon unpacking our food we realized there was only 4 tacos giving the benefit of the doubt I told the hubby that he more than likely wasn't charged for 5. He pulls out the receipt and surprisingly notice he wasn't only charged for 5 however there is an unknown charge for $2 custom item. I called the restaurant and female who answered was unable to give me a clear answer of the extra charge however stated that we could return for the taco owed. I wasn't satisfied with the response and thought negatively if I was to return what I'd have given so immediately I said no thank you and hung up. She called back a few minutes later stating the owner gave her the approval of giving the taco and if we would return for it. We politely declined. Makes me wonder how many other customers they mysteriously charge custom items so be careful. My apologies, the food is great and always has been so I guess it's why I am even more...

Oh.... It was so good!!!! I loved it! A for real Mexican restaurant. All of us where comfortable! I loved hearing rancheras through the speakers and the customers howling at their song of choice. Exactly what I was looking for. The food was delicious. The tortillas are home made. The sauces are perfect. I will always come back here when I'm in Tampa. So many Tex Mex places are pretentious and often cater to the less melinated, less flavored crowd. But not this...

We came in our lunch break to order tacos. We were the only ones in there and the wait time was atrocious. We waited approx. 45 mins to get our food and leave for 12 tacos. They got our order wrong and not one person working there spoke English or knew how to run the credit card machine. Don't get me wrong the tacos were delicious and the salsa was fire.
