Friendly Tarpon Tavern — Restaurant in Tampa

Despite the bad stigma of the old place I wanted a beer and because of where I was it was the closest bar so I gave it a chance. After sitting and waiting 15 minutes at the bar I finally got a beer after being forgotten. Trying to get another beer and my tab was just as difficult even knowing the bartender from another spot that closed. Went out back to use the bathroom and smoke before I left and was overwhelmed by the odor of marijuana being smoked by a group of people who I would assume as regulars because I saw them all getting serviced before me. What a lovely spot in South Tampa! It was my first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy it is. I walked in with my boyfriend, and honestly, I wasn’t in the best mood.
