I met up with my mom and aunt, who continued to rave about it, so I decided to join her for a late breakfast/early lunch. In all fairness, I didn't have high expectations due to the reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised by some elements.
The overall vibe and atmosphere are calming and relaxing. The decor inside is simple yet appropriate for the restaurant. Since I enjoy watching soccer, I enjoyed watching FiFa TV on all the TV screens. Since it's now 100 degrees outside in Florida, we sat inside. So, I can't speak to the outside, but I have heard good things.
We ordered the breakfast sandwich, the Pandebono Benedict, and Calentado. (I forgot to take pictures.) The breakfast sandwich seemed OK. My aunt was not overly impressed but wasn't upset either. Mom ordered the Benedict and requested the sauce on the side, which I recommend, as the sauce was a bit thicker than I like to see. However, the portion and taste of the dish were on point. I enjoyed the Calentando. No, loved the Calentado! It brought back memories of when I traveled to South and Central America. The cooking team made the beans and rice with excellent flavor and prepared the eggs as I liked them, over easy. The chorizo was so good. Before I knew it, I had eaten the whole thing, still wanting more.
We ordered the Cafe con Leche (with sug ). It's not really a Cafe con leche, but it was delicious. So, just don't expect the traditional cafe con leche. And the espresso at the end was so yummy. I absolutely loved that they served sparkling water with the espresso.
The service was good. Was it out of this world? Well, the staff was attentive and personable. You can sit where you like, and since my party had yet to arrive, they were totally cool with me taking a seat. They provided enough time to order, brought water before we ordered, and answered our questions about the menu.
All in all, I will be returning. I know exactly what I will order, and I could be there watching a COPA game....
Read moreThis place is not what they show you on Instagram or elsewhere, I walked to a big line in the hot rainy weather we have this past sunday 29 the host tells me there was a thirty minutes wait so to wait OUTSIDE but she said it in a bad attitude, then they call me outside to come in and she didn’t even ask me where I wanted to be seated because they have outside patio, I told her I wanted to sit outside, my server a short guy with long hair was nice to us but they took their very sweet time to bring my food and it wasn’t even that tasty for my Hispanic taste. all of a sudden I hear the same girl who came with the rude attitude to me, talking rudely to her coworker even tho he was just asking a question, this girl is kinda chubby white skin with tattoos around her and on her neck I heard the guy calling her Yeni, I think it’s very sad these people let a worker treat like that a coworker and worse of all do it in front of a customer, AND TO CUSTOMERS, it is not the attention or scene I would like when going to eat at a restaurant, they make it seem like a peaceful nice restaurant but it was not my experience and it’s sad the environment and treatment this girl named Yeni showed us. OVERALL the only thing I can’t complain about is the servers attention, as it’s not their fault the kitchen doesn’t do their job the right way because the place was not crowded. I decided to try again this Saturday because how could something that look so nice be so bad but same old… Managers and owners should take action on their workers and kitchen timing to...
Read moreDo not go here if you have any food allergies!! The staff is not at all willing to even try to accommodate. I have a gluten allergy but after checking out the menu online I found plenty that I should have been able to eat so I decided to go for Sunday brunch with my girlfriends. I gave the server my order and then proceeded to inform him of my allergy and kindly requested that they inform the cook so they could take precautions to avoid cross contamination. He said it was eat at your own risk (which I understand and it is this way with most establishments) And I said of course but could you just ask him to switch out his gloves when preparing mine. He responded with "No, we are too busy". I was floored. I've only been recently diagnosed with my autoimmune condition, but still I've NEVER had this response when eating out somewhere when I made this request. The server didn't even go back and check to see if the kitchen would be willing. He just immediately said no. The atmosphere is wonderful, the patio is beautiful, and the food looked and sounded absolutely delicious. I only wish I had been able to eat. If you don't have any food allergies I'm sure you will love the experience of dining here as everything else was really great honestly. (my girlfriends certainly enjoyed it) But again if you have any kind of food allergy I would...
