I've come in here for pickup orders a few times and spoke with the owner before, no problems, felt welcomed but today it was an awkward experience with an employee. Absolutely hate to make this review related to race but that seemed to be the case. I came in right after a light skinned man. An Indian looking female employee helped him almost right away, he got his to- go order and left. She made eye contact with me, didn't even say a word and went straight to the back, disappeared for several minutes, before showing up in a dining room full of drinks. Restuarant was somewhat busy so I get it if you are multitasking but absolutely no acknowledgement. Even a "I'll be right with you" would be more respectful. As she's serving the drinks to the customers dining in another light skinned customer enters the restaurant. When this female employee comes back to the bar, she still doesn't even say a single word to me and instead helps the 2nd light skinned customer that was not in the restaurant before me. After helping that customer she goes back to "acting" too busy to acknowledge me until I have to say "hey is that an order for _" which had been sitting on the counter before i even entered the restaurant.. With me being an Asian descent, maybe she's ignorant & still thinks it's still 2020 and she will catch corona virus. Absolute bad look for this restuarant with the bar being the first place you pass/see upon entering the restaurant; if you aren't light skinned you'll probably be ignored until you ask for help. Have had bad experiences at fast food restaurants in the past but for a sit-down/to goirestaurant, she gives this...

Absolutely love the food here! First of all let me say, the first time I went to this restaurant over a year ago, I was just driving around with my husband looking for a place to eat. We went in without any expectations and the food was delicious. Authentic Thai flavors! It was summertime and they had pumpkin curry in the menu which was delicious! I didn’t write down the name of the place and always wanted to go back but couldn’t figure it out until Yelp sent me a notification of “suggested places to go” and there it was – Pinto! I guess having no phone privacy comes in handy sometimes.

The food is amazing. Ive had the pumpkin curry twice already. The portion is big enough to be satisfied (and take some home). I’ve had shrimp and then beef curry and it didn’t disappoint. The crab ragoon, crispy duck, and seafood pad Thai are delicious as well. I’m unsure if the dessert is anything special as I’m not as familiar with those flavors. But the rest of the menu def 10/10.

I’m rating the service lower because we drove about 45 min to go eat dinner there 2 weeks ago and when we arrived at 9pm we were told by the hostess the kitchen was already closed, even though the hours online say 10PM. We were highly disappointed that even though we said how far we drove to get there, there were no customer service aptitude displayed.

Regardless, we went back today because the food...

I am a loyal customer and frequent this place for the FOOD. I recently had a frustrating service experience. I arrived to pick up an order and had no immediate assistance, dispite being the only one there. After a few minutes, they informed me that their system was down and they needed to call the manager. The manager asked for the total, which was under $20, and I ended up waiting for 20 minutes while they tried to figure things out. Despite resetting the system multiple times, it still wouldn’t accept payment. With a tropical storm outside, I was just trying to leave with or without my food. Finally, they told me it would be another 20 minutes. I had decided I didn’t want the food anymore but I asked if I could pay online, and they casually mentioned that they have a means of doing that after I wasted 20 minutes there. The online total was $5 more than the in-store price. They agreed to include my $2.99 canned soda in the total to compensate. I paid and left, only to be chased down by an employee claiming I hadn’t paid for the soda. After she tried to argue in the pouring rain, I handed over the soda and left. I understand the technical difficulties but no effort to make it right is disheartening. I hope they can improve their service and communication...

We'd been meaning to try Pinto Thai for a while, and let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait! We started with some appetizers - the egg rolls and crab rangoon were both delicious. For entrees, we went with the Panang Curry and Pad See Ew. The Panang Curry was the absolute star of the show. It was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I can't recommend it enough! The Pad See Ew, however, was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't bad, but it just seemed to be missing that certain something. Overall, though, Pinto Thai is a hidden gem. The food is fresh, flavorful, and the portions are generous. Just be aware that parking can be a bit tricky on the weekends.

Hot was not too hot (not sure if it was their version of Thai Hot, tho). Entrees (soup & curry) were good portions, good ratio of protein to vegetables. Appetizers were slightly small, but still flavorful. Crab Rangoon very curry-ful which was tasty (if u like yellow curry)--different than the cream cheese version one may be used to. Cocktail was a fun adult version of Thai tea. Thai Paradise had a light tropical flavor, but only 3/4 full and mostly ice. Friendly &prompt service. Neat ceiling tiles. Cute balloons and flowers for Valentine's Day. Didn't use the restrooms--can't comment on those. Pretty good parking for South tampa--, but we went early evening.
