Restaurante La Hacienda & Bakery — Restaurant in Tampa

I went to go eat here with my family and the environment was nice, I came here a hand full of times but never experienced service like this. I order a plate and asked the waitress to make sure an item on the plate comes cooked well, she noted it down. Everything else in the table came good except the item. I asked the waitress if they can cook the item more for me they went ahead and cooked it and brought the item back with hanging pieces of some other food with it. I found it to be gross because it was a color that had nothing to do with the food. I immediately call the waitress and asked her what is this? They couldn’t explain what it was and took it back. Keep in mind my food has been sitting for 15-20mins because I was waiting for my other item to eat, my food was already cold and my family already finished eating and they still haven’t brought the item out yet. So I told the waitress I don’t want the food because everyone else is done and my food is cold now they took the food back and when they brought the bill out they charged be for it. I simply told the waitress the issue and she got the manager and the manager started arguing with my family because I returned the food and he felt like I should have paid it. I told him I didn’t even consume anything from the plate and if you are going to charge me for it then make one to go then to take home and he said he can’t do that. Then I informed him how you expect me to pay for something I didn’t eat and couldn’t have been brought to me made correctly the first couple of time. After explain to the owner. We honestly use to love this restaurant and would come here frequently, but the quality of the food and service has gone down horribly. Servers are rude, don’t seem to like their job, and the owner seems to not care about his establishment’s customer service. Today my dad dined in with my step brother and ordered 3 plates to go. He had just put in the order when he received his dish and realized how big the portion was. He tells the server to cancel 1 of the 3 plates that he just told her to put in and she said she would have to check with the kitchen. My dad was confused because it had literally been one minute since he told her the order. She comes back and informs my dad that she couldn’t cancel the order. My dad proceeds to talk to the owner and he said that he couldn’t do anything about it either. That once the order is put in it’s in. Just ridiculous and very unheard to have a restaurant conduct business like this. We could understand if 5 minutes or more had passed, but literally the server had just turned around. My mom also had an issue a few months ago. She was served a burnt arepa and when she asked for a new one the waiter seemed to be bothered by the request. Then later asked her if she was going to eat it and my mom tells her would you eat it burnt like that? Just ridiculous service and clearly they don’t know true Colombian hospitality because this truly ain’t it. They will no longer have...
