Pho Basi — Restaurant in Tamuning Municipality

We came here off of a suggestion from a coworker & will not be returning. Only giving a star because the food was decent.

Upon walking in we weren’t acknowledged nor greeted. We were waiting a few min to be seated. We honestly were getting to the point where we thought we were supposed to seat ourselves. Never in my life have I ever walked into an establishment and felt like an inconvenience until today.

When we’re directed to a table, we were given menus and a waitress came to take our order. We received 3/4 of the dishes we ordered. No one came to check on us after we got our food.

The food was average. Not exactly something to write home about. We both got beef pho. The eggrolls were not close to traditional Vietnamese eggrolls mostly cabbage and vermicelli noodles as the filling. Not worth the price it was. I have definitely had quality Vietnamese food in Japan and the mainland and cooked by my parents for less.

When I went to pay they were about to charge me for the one dish we never received and when I mentioned it the lady at the counter seemed annoyed and scratched it off our table. No apology for them forgetting about our order.

I also witnessed them sit a single woman. They hadn’t taken her order yet so she went to use the bathroom. A couple walks in and they gave them her table. The single woman was surprised and their response was they thought she left even though she left something on the table indicating she was sitting there.

We had our 1 yr old with us and I had to walk around the place looking for a high chair since we weren’t offered one.

2015 Pho bo was fantastic! I was there at the wrong time. The place was absolutely full. It looked like that everybody came in at the same time and the staff was overwhelmed with taking orders. Kitchen was very fast and turned out the meals in unbelievable short time. After some wait to order my soup came quickly and was of superb quality. There.were all the different meats in it, including tendons and tripe. Also the "vegetables" were in a nice variety and plentiful. The waitress was very courteous and friendly despite the huge workload. Overall an OK eating experience. 03.20.2010 This time the experience was not as pleasant as earlier. The waitress was sort of grumpy and at that time only a few tables were occupied. When the soup was served I was informed that they were out of basil. That can happen, but only a few minutes later, on the next table, a person got a big plate with basil with the soup. I pointed that out and got also basil. It was mediocre overall at best. The owner (I’m assuming) and the “server” who ran some of our food gave terrible service. Quotes on the word server because we couldn’t tell if she worked there or not because she had wireless earbuds on and she was wearing slippers. The owner really picked and chose who he wanted to give decent customer service to, and we were not one of them. My husband and I like to wait for all of our food to come out then eat, but the owner realized we had 2 out of 4 dishes and he said, “What are you waiting for? Is someone else coming to join you? That’s a lot of food.” I just thought that was completely uncalled for since he’s not the one paying or eating, and it made me lose my appetite and not enjoy my food.
