I forgot to write this long overdue review. We were heading back from a vacation and passing through Taunton on our way back to the Cape. Made a pit stop and found this spot, our family loves Jamaican. We got Ox tail which is standard protocol, curry goat which contrasts the sweetness of the oxtail and I think it was stew pork. Mannn, finger licking good is the understatement of the decade. Each one of the dishes is probably the best we’ve had here in the states. We’ve never traveled yet to Jamaica but have pretty good reference for the flavors expected since we’ve indulged in this cultural cuisine upwards of 100 times in most New England states throughout the years. (It’s typically the best value for money combined with flavor and hearty food when traveling especially) I’m not joking though, when you go in just look at the different sections of food and see for yourself, each one looks better than the next. (my stomach literally just growled) For context, we went more near closing time and everything still looked hot, fresh, immaculately scrumptious. We all know some places toward the end of the day if the dish isn’t prepared and kept properly starts looking real sad. None of that here, delivery drivers kept coming as we ate on the cozy non pretentious furnishings. The staff was so nice to us and even sent our two kids off with dessert which they really didn’t have to do, at all. We have Gemini in Hyannis and Irie and One Love here in Provincetown if you’re familiar with the Cape but I’d literally trade all three for this Taunton gem. It’s one of those places you don’t forget about, both for the food and for the experience provided by the people and establishment. We are going to Boston soon and I will try to edit and add photos this time around, maybe even...
Read moreThe food here is genuinely good, which makes this situation all the more disappointing. After I respectfully pointed out an error on the menu—an item that contained inaccurate information—the response I received was far from professional. Rather than acknowledging the mistake, the staff became uncooperative, and I was subsequently refused service.
While I’ve noticed the menu has since been corrected, there has been no acknowledgment or accountability regarding how the situation was initially handled. Repeated attempts to order delivery have been met with consistent cancellations, which raises serious concerns.
As a Black man who makes a conscious effort to support Black-owned businesses, this experience has been particularly disheartening. I hope this feedback prompts some reflection on how customer concerns are addressed...
Read moreThis review is being written as i actively take my first bite of food. I stopped in here this evening, to get something to eat before class.
The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff is humble and you instantly can feel the “family vibes”
There was a young man struggling to pay for his meal, and they used the honor system, gave him the food because he was hungry, and the gentleman to come back when he could. I ended up combing the kids meal.
The food is AMAZING but regardless they will get my service going forward simply because they are...
