Not sure whatās going on with the customer service , my work schedule hasnāt given me time to order from yāall recently but unfortunately I just did and it was lacking. The first person I talked to I could barely understand (not their fault) but they had a heavy accent and I just couldnāt understand and she told me I had to choose 3 different meats for the dinner combo and that wasnāt the case with the second person I talked to who also seemed to be irritated? Iām sorry I asked a question but I didnāt know if it was any 3 meats or if it was different now and it was 3 set meats because the first girl did mention 3 meats like it was set in stone ? I went by what was stated on the website & the second girl said any 3 meats so thatās what I ordered and I was going to order more ribs but I just wanted to get off the phone to be honest so I didnāt . I was rushed off the phone and I get it when ur busy but itās part of the job and itās disappointing when I was looking foreword to it for a while .
Edit: I walked in and everyone was super nice (the owner was managing the register ) I asked for my order and I found out the 1st woman on the phone was apparently a student on a work visa.. I found this out after mr Sylvester handed me my bill (when I told him my name) with a zero balance which is not what I wanted at all but extremely kind and thoughtful. I tried arguing my way into paying but he wouldnāt take my money until he finally accepted some to put it in the tip jar for his workers who I know work extremely hard and help him make exceptional food! So thank you all I know itās hard in the service industry and you have a million things going on at once , trust me I get it. All I wanted to say was if you need a minute put someone on hold, we appreciate your service and can wait a second if you need a moment or two. Or if youāre the person helping a new employee from another country which is also amazing just say that instead of being impatient? It was probably hard for her too and itās not her fault i couldnāt understand her but Iām so thrilled she has the opportunity to learn from you guys! Iāve always loved kinfolks since you 1st started in the small pop up across from the 99 on 44. And Iāll always love your food and your passion for the community . So thank you for your service and passion for food . I had a long, hard and rough day (gotta love lining pipes in 80 + weather lol) but your food was exactly what I needed at the end of it š and my kid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocated in the parking lot of a liquor store that's right on route 44, Kinfolks BBQ could very easily be completely missed. But once you pull up, their big double smokers and two large trailers are rather impressive. This is probably the biggest non-brick and mortar setup I've ever seen. And there's good reason for it. They are popular and their food absolutely rocks.
The owners are super friendly and placing a catering ordering for the Superbowl was an absolutely breeze. They held my hand through options and made some great suggestions. When I came to pick it up, they were slammed but able to process everything quickly and without any chaos somehow.
The ribs were great and there was a nice smoke flavor to them. Maybe a little bite but overall some of the tastiest I've had. The brisket was a bit on the drier side but still very tasty. The pulled pork was great and the sides were delightful as well. We had their mac and cheese and their collard greens. Both were good although I would have loved a touch more acid in the collards. Oh and we also had their hushpuppies although they were very dense and incredibly filling. I'd stay away and leave room for something else. The cornbread was also very good.
I would say that for the most part, their BBQ is very good and only had a couple of flaws: their sauces were a bit too thick and sweet for my taste and the brisket was a tad too dry. But then again, I had their food on their busiest of weeks. I'll definitely return and update once I have more of it down the road. I look forward to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place, I've had one coworker say it was good based solely on the sign saying Award Winning BBQ. The food is okay but the price for the portions are waaaaay too high. Everything is labeled "Market Price" which is ridiculous. Pulled pork, wings, and brisket are not worthy of Market Price. I've only seen Lobster labeled Market Price, not to-go BBQ. 2 meat combo with a Pepsi was $28. It was 1 small slice and a half of Brisket and maybe 3 oz of Pulled Pork, the worst grainy Mac N Cheese and mustardy yellow potato salad that would get them kicked from any family barbecue. The to-go container had plenty of room which angered me. Cornbread isn't even fresh, there's 2 boxes of it cut up and pre-wrapped. Also little dipping cups of BBQ sauce should not be $.50 extra anywhere. They were friendly but I'm not going here again. This was the only lunch I've ever spent $25+ on and then stopped somewhere else because I was still hungry. Disappointed and definitely not...
