We recently ordered takeout from Michael Asian Cuisine (a small Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in a strip plaza), and it turned out to be one of the best dining surprises we’ve had in a long time. From the outside, you might not think twice about stopping in, but once you try the food, you’ll realize what a hidden gem this place truly is.

I ordered the shrimp and chicken teriyaki, and it was absolutely fantastic. The shrimp were plump and perfectly cooked, while the chicken was tender and flavorful. The teriyaki glaze had the perfect balance of sweetness and savory depth, and everything tasted fresh rather than overly heavy or greasy like you sometimes get with takeout. It was so satisfying and really well prepared.

My partner ordered the steak and meatball pho soup, and that dish was just as impressive. The broth was rich, aromatic, and clearly simmered with care—it had that deep, authentic flavor that only comes from time and tradition. The steak slices were tender, the meatballs hearty, and the noodles cooked to the perfect texture. Even as a takeout order, it arrived with all the traditional toppings and condiments, which made it feel like a full restaurant experience at home.

Overall, this spot is a true hidden treasure. The authenticity and quality are on par with the best Vietnamese restaurants we’ve tried, and the fact that it’s tucked into an unassuming plaza makes it feel even more special. We’ll definitely be back again soon, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone craving genuine Vietnamese...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Michael Asian Cuisine restaurant that left me absolutely blown away. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the pork chop, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of outstanding. The meat was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and packed with flavor that danced on my taste buds. It was clear that the kitchen knows how to elevate simple ingredients into something extraordinary. I also tried the pho, and it was another home run. The broth was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spice and depth. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the fresh herbs and toppings added that authentic touch that makes pho so special. It’s the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out. What made the experience even better was the owner coming out to greet us. That personal touch added such a welcoming vibe to the meal, making it feel like we were guests in their home rather than just customers. The passion they have for their food and hospitality really shines through. If you’re craving Vietnamese cuisine that’s done right, this place is a must-visit. I can’t...

WORST FOOD POISONING IVE EVER HAD!!!! I am a young healthy person and I have not had any real stomach issues but ever since I ate here and got in my car to leave the restaurant I immediately threw up and I have been through numerous hospital visits and gastritis diagnose that have racked up bills and I have been mentally and physically going through hell after eating there. I’ve been throwing up and feeling nausea/stomach inflammation ever since then. It’s been 3 months since this incident happened and My gastrologist said it could take up to 6 months for my stomach to recover. I write this because I want to potentially save a life or someone from everiencing the health and financial HELL I’ve had...

I looked up restaurants in Tavares with high Google ratings for Asian cuisine, and Michael's Asian Cuisine stood out. Although the shopping center it’s located in may seem a bit questionable due to some closed businesses, don’t let that deter you from visiting this gem for lunch or dinner. Michael's wife, Angel, provided exceptional service and really made us feel welcome. Michael, the owner and chef, personally came out to meet us—his wonderful personality and genuine passion for cooking truly shine through. The food here is undoubtedly five-star, cooked to perfection. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone, and we will certainly be back!

Stopped in mid Saturday afternoon for lunch. The plaza it is located in was not impressive but we thought let’s look inside. The restaurant was bright, cheery and clean. We ordered an appetizer of teriyaki chicken wings along with our entrees Chicken Tom Yum and Shrimp Tom Yum. The wings were seasoned perfectly, crispy and hot. The soups were very generous portions and full of fresh ingredients. It was exactly what we were looking for !
