Ruby Street Grille — Restaurant in Tavares

Ruby Street Grille is a casual American restaurant overlooking Lake Dora, Florida, featuring regular live music with a covered patio for indoor/outdoor dining. Their menu offers a fair variety of seafood, pasta, pizza, burgers, wings and a full liquor bar with wine and beer. Their interior has beautiful murals that are painted directly to a wall or column, wherever there is space. They have live entertainment on their covered patio Wednesday thru Sundays. Right from the start, our servers (Carolynn and Emily) made sure that we had a good experience from beginning to end as they took excellent care of us all evening. We had a large group for a birthday celebration and their service was fantastic, smile, no extra charge! Reports of food from around the table; Boneless Wing Dings for an appetizer were great for two of us. Ruby Slippers, crispy potato skins, BBQ pulled pork, shredded cheese were good. Portobello Mushroom Swiss Burger by three of us were great. Mahi Fish Tacos, Two corn tacos filled with blackened mahi then topped with jack cheese and Napa slaw, served with fries were good. I have been to this restaurant numerous times with my coworkers and never had an issue. However, yesterday I took my husband there for lunch since he's never been there before, and our service was awful. The server took our order and my husband has food allergies so he asked for his food to be prepared a certain way and the server confirmed his order with him twice before going to place it with the kitchen. Once our food arrived, my husband's order was wrong, and he couldn't eat it. The server who took our order was busy, so I got the attention of another employee to explain that my husband's order was wrong. The lady gave us attitude when she got to our table and said to us well I didn't take your order. So we just dismissed her. When we were able to speak with the server who took our order, she just looked at us like we had 2 heads, they offered to fix it but we had already waited almost 45 minutes to get our food and we had to get back to work. So we just paid our check and left. But I will NEVER return to this restaurant again because of the nasty attitude and poor customer service...

The reviews on here have been very deceiving. First of all, the atmosphere was not inviting and was pretty muggy inside. Took forever for anyone to come to our table to take our order. The Dr. Pepper tasted nasty. The spinach and artichoke dip was subpar with burnt chips. We waited for 40 minutes for food to come out (They weren't busy), husband got up to get check to leave and they brought the food. Husband asked for suggestion from server which was the burrito. He ordered the beef burrito with side of coleslaw. Burrito had no meat and coleslaw was warm. I ordered the ruby burger medium. It came out well done which I will not eat. Took server awhile to come back to check on us, which at that time, only person who ate was my son who had mac n cheese. While dining here, other servers were throwing cell phones around and others were sitting at tables with patrons. Definitely wouldn't recommend this...
