Newbie at this place but the host was able to walk us through how to get started since we were a bit lost what to do when we got inside. The experience can be awkward if no one to "guide" your through. Then you realize people are starting to come in through the entrance door line up behind you and definately dont want to cause frustration scene for some and would let them go ahead of me to that respect. It would've been helpful for newbie that want to experience this if they could just have a "process" to streamline like have a sign where to begin from start to finish. You'll get this throwback feeling like being in school again where you grab a tray w/plastic bag on it and tongue. Then you move further to pick your selection of meats(limited), veggies, noodles, and drinks(limited on Coke 12oz products) before heading over to the cashier to weight your tray which they charge you by the pound. The cashier will ask you what hot pot flavor or the stir-fry version you want. Then you'll get a tracker buzzer to tell you if your food is ready. Keep in mind, they do have a complimentary rice and pitcher water(in the fridge) and small plastic cups. Although, a business like this should have a soda fountain refill station with ice(please get) in the future to make it a wonderful dinning experience for its customer. Once your food is done, you can get your complimentary rice if you want or go to the sauce station to enhance your flavor even more to your liking. I do admit the soup broth is amazing and order the Szechwan Green pepper. My biggest let down is the spoon(bit flat) but if the broth is this good, might as well chugged it. Good atmosphere neither the less and can get crowded but there's always room to make it better for its customer experience. At the moment, you are limit to the selection they have on meats, veggies, and noodles. Maybe a weekly rotation to keep things fresh like say seafood and helps to have a description stating what items they are. I could have taken more pics but there are others that show how it is there. Would I come back? Yes, I would for a quick meal or craving. There are others out there that offer bang for your buck in this "stretch your dollar" plus there's also all-you-can-eat kinda eatery out there that you can even stretch your dollar even more and if you feel it's not your liking here . It's a kool place to say or at least...
Read moreAs a huge fan of Malatang from LA area, where big name chain Malatang spots are everywhere, I have to say this place truly surprised me. Our family visited SLC for a skiing trip, and a local friend recommended this newly opened spot. We tried both the dry pot and the Tengjiao soup base, and wow😌the freshness, the flavor, the cleanliness, and the service were all spot on. The staff chatted with us for our thoughts compared to similar restaurants in California. I can tell the management really cares about the details and values customer feedback.
We also visited Happy Lamb, which we enjoyed, but the pay by weight model feels like a guilt-free alternative to a buffet on a random day lol I’ll definitely be coming back the next time...
Read moreI recently visited this amazing spicy hot pot place, and I can't stop thinking about it! The variety of fresh ingredients is incredible—everything from veggies to meats and noodles. The broth is rich, flavorful, and has the perfect level of spiciness (you can adjust it to your preference, which is a huge plus!). The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially if you're new to spicy hot pot. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves bold flavors and a fun dining experience. 10/10 will...
