I have just found my new favorite store for skin care products and some make up brushes. They have some high end products for dirt cheap. I have no idea why I have never known about this store or why I haven't at least checked it out before. If the prices on some of these products is a reflection on how inexpensive other high end inventory matches in the store; then I might have found my new favorite place. (Which is never good on my wallet 😂).
The only thing I had a problem with and I find this happening in most places which makes no sense to me. However the hour and a half time being in the store I was never acknowledged. I was never helped. I didn't witness any employee helping any customer actually. Then to make an irritation more irritating it wasn't that I didn't see any one that could have helped me. No. There was an employee standing by the same shelves as I was, who never said a thing until one of her co-workers walked up. She didn't say anything to me Still; only to the other employee. Who at this point; walked in front of me, and the current merchandise I was looking at, parked her cart in front and started to continue with her nightly duties with returning items and cleaning.
I was confused really. What would cause someone who works in customer service... in retail?? .....Where stores stay open based on customers actually making purchases....?To place yourself and a 3 ft wide and 3ft length cart stacked with products in front of a customer that is currently standing in the isle shopping or "was shopping", until you decided your work closing duties were more important than what your main focus should be... The customer and assisting them. At the very least acknowledging them with even a little bit of normal respect that should be shown on or off duty (i guess?) And say hello?? Possibly. Or maybe even "Can I help you find something?" Or try...."Oh... am I in your way?" Something.... Anything ? It was quite disappointing. Anyway. Besides that. The store was clean, it wasn't cold. Or hot. Usually the temperature of stores tend to be either extreme but never comfortable to me in the winter time. With water and mud tracked every where. This store was dry and clean.
There was however one employee that provided enough customer service it allowed me to leave the store less irritated by the other disregarding behavior. She was my cashier. She offered me their card and was quick to explain and go through the process without causing any delay in ringing me up and getting me out the door. Even sat and chatted with her about random things during check out. She was welcoming. Very nice. She was professional and cleanly dressed and even though the store was about to close she didn't even hint that her mind was out of that store already. She helped me and started a conversation and continued it as if she still had hours left of work. She wasn't counting her till. Or failing to upsell or meet company expectations. She provide quick. Friendly. Customer service. She treated me as though I was a customer.. Like the customers some how were the reason she had employment.... Strange right? Lol 😂 anyway ... Sadly my receipt doesn't provide the associates name. But if her employers are smart they would hire more girls like her and reevaluate others or provide additional training. . I don't know. As far as I am aware manners wasn't something you were taught later in life. It was something you were taught when younger with respecting other people or I guess you aren't. Not sure if that is something you can train at this point. The cashier girl who worked that night will be one reason why I go back to that specific store and why I am not giving a lower rating.
Just "some advice or helpful tip" If you work in a service industry where you are to assist customers to ensure good buisness. Try hiring and/ or training the employees on what their duties are first and for most, helping The...
Read moreI only recently began shopping here after hearing from reading YouTube comments that TJ Maxx sometimes has higher end makeup and hair care/skin care for affordable prices.
Stila, Bare Minerals, Marc Jacobs, Anastasia of Beverly Hills, Too Faced, Lorac, Becca, Laura Gellar, Dr. Brandt, Biolage, Beauty Blender, EcoTools, and more... I have found (but not necessarily purchased) some great products in New condition.
The Pros: You can sometimes find sealed containers of hair care and skin care for $3.99 - $5.99 instead of $12.99 - $19.99. I found more natural/organic hair products and looked them up on Amazon. I read reviews, noted size and prices, and felt satisfied I was beating the Amazon price of a 25 oz. Bottle of shampoo by Nature Love by $6. (on Amazon it was in a set with conditioner for $29.95, and mine was $8.99.) I also found Bare Minerals Gen Nude lipsticks for $4.99 instead of the higher prices. I found sealed containers of Bare Minerals original spf foundation powder for $2.99 and $6.99 instead of $32.99 at Ulta.
The Cons: Makeup is frequently opened, dusty/powdery with shimmer from other products spilling out. You have a camera on you so when you are opening a lipstick box to inspect the bullet lipstick (like the Bare Minerals Gen Nude), you may look like you're compromising the integrity of the Brand New product inside. Many eyeshadows, highlighters, and blushes are already swatched with fingerprints in them, so if a camera or an employee suspects you of damaging their product, you could get framed for swatching when all you did was look at it, see that it was already swatched, and then close it and put it back. So every product you pick up and attempt to see whether it's already been tampered with... That is a risk to take. (I am very happy with my brand new, untouched, unswatched lipstick, and very glad that if I was accused of messing with it, I could easily show the employee that I didn't nick the product or swatch it in any way. No fingerprints, it hadn't been twisted up yet. I just had to look at the product to see that it was tightly inside the tube and hadn't been twisted up. When a lipstick from the Bare Minerals black packaging has already been twisted up, there's no way you can make it look new once you twist it back down. Another frustrating thing, and a risk you take, is that you cannot always find the expiration date on a product. So you have to use your best judgment. You may not return makeup or hair/body/skin care to the store, not even when it's remained sealed and you are within your 30 days of purchase.
Well, that's a confusing part. I was told by 2 employees (cashiers) that they will not accept the product back if unopened/unused, but another employee told me they WILL accept a return/refund if unopened. This TJ Maxx location is where I was told their return and exchange policy.
I will try to include a photo of the hair products I purchased today.
The cashiers and floor staff are very kind, friendly, and polite. They do their best to keep the store clean. It isn't the store's and employee fault that people open makeup and skin products to test them and then not buy. The employees are doing their best to keep the departments clean. I'm always treated very well at check out.
If you actually buy the types of items I mentioned, be sure you really want to take the risk and not regret your purchase because once it leaves the store with you, you won't be able to...
Read moreOn 12/15/2019 I purchased a black Marmot Men's jacket for a 12 year old boy at TJMAXX store located in Taylorsville UT - 5670 South Redwood Road, 84123. It was for our office Christmas Giving Tree. Before I took it into office, I pulled the jacket out to remove the sales price tag and discovered a small cut in each sleeve of the jacket as well as what appears to be gum in one of the pockets. On closer look, it appears the jacket had been worn and washed multiple times, retagged and placed on the rack. On 12/19/2019 I returned the jacket to the store and was told the receipt and jacket did not match and that the store did not sell the jacket. I asked them to tell me what the tag was from and the clerk refused and told me that they would not take the jacket back. I am still furious over this as I have spent thousands of dollars in TJMAXX over the last 20+ years and I have never had a problem with returns. In fact, I can count the number of times I have returned merchandise on one hand, and that is over two decades of purchasing merchandise from TJMAXX stores in UT, VA and other states in the USA. I am even more upset that the clerk was the very clerk that rang up the jacket when I purchased it on 12/15, I reminded her of that and she claimed she didn't recall. She is also one that has sold me furniture as well as many other items. That said, I ended up buying another jacket from Burlington Coat Factory and I have vowed to never buy another item from that TJMAXX as this was the worst customer experience I have had at any retail establishment. Aside from the fact the clerk wouldn't process the return, she was loud and discourteous which added insult to injury. I asked for the floor manager and before hearing the circumstances, she immediately said she wouldn't approve the return either. I am frustrated and would like to my money back. Contacted TJMAXX Corporate office, and no response. BAD MAXX strikes again! ...
