The service was friendly and that's about where the good stopped for me. My silverware was filthy, large chunks of food that anyone should have been able to see were dried on it. So when they brought out my chili with a spoon already in the food I was less then enthused since there was no way to guarantee if it was clean. The chili itself was average at best, with little meat, lots of beans, an overpowering tomato base and very little seasoning it was a disappointment. The cheeseburger was what I have come to expect of most diners, thin overcooked Patty on a thick stale bun. Biggest disappointment of all was that they have to the route of the fast food/convenience store by using fountain dispensed iced tea instead of fresh brewed. I have never been disappointed in their service or food . They serve an abundance of food. Plenty to take home for two meals for most. For me three meals. They are very clean. The plates of food come out hot fresh, and you can tell the cooks take pride in their dish. Their soups have fresh cut vegetables in them wich is always refreshing to see. Salads are not shredded and yellow, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Drinks like coffee & tea is always at plenty. My favorite waitress is Betty. She is usually in at breakfast and lunch. Sun.-Thur. Ask for her and tell her T-N-T recommended her. If you go on Sunday they are packed and the service is still great I have almost always had Betty. Sunday evening may be a bad time to eat here. The place was packed with an older crowd , as are most great cafes. Our meal came directly from the microwave. Rebaked potato from earlier this week. Expired instant potatoes. And green beans were the only vegetable they had left (despite being near 2 grocery stores)

Last straw was after having one bite of. Meat and potatoes my plate was cleared while feeding my child.

It was disgusting but I wish they would have asked before charging full price for a 2 bite sample.

Shortly after leaving. The other 2 in my group rushed themselves to the restroom while shopping at the near by Wal-Mart.

I didn't get to eat my trash and my family could not go 20 minutes before...
