Tastee Treet — Restaurant in Taylorville

June 2, 2024 Tastee Treet has always been a hometown favorite. During the month of June they have my favorite soft serve, key lime and lemon twist. No longer living in the area it had been six years since I had been able to enjoy my June favorite. We planned our trip back to Taylorville so I could enjoy one. They had the Keylime available and the lemon but not the twist yet. The girl was kind enough to improvise and stack lemon, key lime, lemon, key lime.They have a large choice of sundaes, shakes, malts, F5's which is like a Blizzard, only much better. Great place for icecream, terrible work environment, I don’t blame the kids for long lines or un-blended icecream, this is all the owners fault by not buying actual cups they can mix the icecream with, in the blenders without breaking,(this would also make the line move faster if icecream wasn’t mixed by hand for every customer and not hiring enough people to work.)she doesn’t throw away expired toppings and still gives them out to customers (literally the peanuts and pecans have mold) she also picks favorites and doesn’t treat her...

We moved away from the area years ago, but when we go through Taylorville in the summer, we always make a point of running through Tastee Treat. Their soft-serv is excellent, in particular the lemon, which many places either don't offer or get the flavor wrong. Malteds are outstanding as well. And to get a Chicago dog at 1/3 the cost of Portillos without sacrificing flavor is fantastic. Great...
