On May 21st I went to this restaurant for my birthday, with my brother and his family and my wife.
We waited for at least an hour and a half to be seated.
There were seven of us all together.
The restaurant was busy but it was not packed.
When we receive it we were giving water, and after getting the water to waitress if we would like drinks so we ordered the drinks at that time and they were served promptly.
A few minutes later the waiter came back to take her orders.
We ordered sashimi appetizer, and we waited for it to be served for over 20 minutes, but our entrees came one at a time without the appetizers being served first about 25 minutes into service again we were served other entrees but not all of us were served at once.
I myself had ordered spicy chicken, and I was still waiting on it 30 minutes into service, and my wife was waiting on her entry also.
My brother and his wife were well into their meal nearly finished, on my brother has to wait her what's happening with the food why isn't it being served, he gave an excuse that the kitchen was very busy, and my brother stayed at that he wanted the food now that we I'm waiting too long!
Another 10 minutes goes by at least and still I'm not served my entree and my wife I just received hers, so I asked the waiter to have the manager come and see me, I waited nearly 10 minutes for the manager.
The manager comes to the table not announcing that he's the manager with my entree in the sand and sets it down next to me and I said to him I did not order the udon noodle slicy chicken, I had ordered a different spicy chicken dish and he asked hey if I be willing to waite, and I said no I will eat the udon noodle spicy chicken but it is not what I ordered.
At the point I asked him if he was the manager he said that he was the manager and he was sorry that I had received the wrong dish.
I didn't told him what we have been experiencing regarding our food being served one at a time, and the appetizer being served with the entree, and also the waiter never coming back to ask us if we would like drinks or to remove dirty dishes from the table.
I stated to him that the waiter had just walked by over three times and never once didn't care about removing the dirty plates from the table, nor did he ask us if we'd like any more drinks.
At that point the manager said he was sorry multiple times is there anything he could do to make up for it, at that point I said no you have ruined my birthday already there's no excuse for such poor service, but he kept excusing the fact that they were very busy and they're getting used to the new covid guidelines.
I stated to him that I didn't come to the restaurant to complain I came to enjoy myself and and your waiter had ruined my birthday dinner.
He didn't ask me if there's anything he could do again to make up for it I said to him I would just like to see the children happy and he has if he could get some ice cream for the kids or other desserts free of charge for our inconvenience, at that point I said ice cream would be appropriate and I'm sure that children would enjoy it and would make me happy seeing that they were happy.
Overall the restaurant was extremely noisy with no acoustics to quell the table next to us that had a little too much to drink from the sound that was coming from the people that were sitting nearest to us.
The waiter was poorly trained, my udon noodle spicy chicken dish was very poorly cooked, the chicken was in small pieces that were extremely overcooked, the mushrooms were cooked properly but the noodles were extremely hot and very greasy to say the least!
I'm including some photos of our table and the food and the plates that were left on the table the whole time we were there, what plates were removed, or the plates that we asked to be removed.
I would never go back to that restaurant again, very poor atmosphere, terrible service, and too many excuses forgiven for their inability to run their restaurant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would put more stars because I absolutely love this place but unfortunately of all days I had the most terrible experience on MOTHERS DAY. My wife did leave a review as well. I decided to take my wife out for sushi and a couple of drinks for happy hour in the morning which she enjoys, as do I from Kabuki. We called 10 minutes before showing up spoke to a host asked how long the wait would be was told it would take 10-15mins to be seated but that the bar was open seating if there is anything open we are welcome to sit. So we saw the bar and there were many open spots to sit we decided to sit on the bar stools. As soon as we sat down one of the employees tells us that his manager sent him to tell us to remove ourselves from our seats because someone was waiting in line even though we where told before hand that the bar was open seating which it always has been like that for us never had an issue till this particular day. The employee himself was confused at his managers request saying he's not sure as to why that he apologizes. Manager comes to us in a rude manner and tells us that we can't just sit down that we need to wait I simply tell him that I was under the impression that we can sit down due to the fact that we called and asked and one of the employees told us it was open seating, but instead of actually listening and taking the time to understand he was quick to shut us up and tells us we don't do reservations here at Kabuki. He gets mad keep in mind already raising his voice at us and undermining not just my wife and I but also his staff. He tells me just forget it I apologize (insincerely) give the bartender time to take your order then storms off. The bartender and everyone else in the bar area confused by his behavior while leaving my wife and I upset. The bartender apologizes and asks if we want anything I place an order for an appetizer but I look at my wife and clearly shes very upset and wasn't even looking forward to eating but to add insult to injury the manager comes back and tells me so obviously there was a confusion but to clarify you can't just sit where you want. Instead of excalatingy the situation I bite my tongue and tell him okay he walks off I tell the bartender to cancel my order...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy the West Gate location, so I figured it would not be any different at this one. Wrong. The first moment of walking in, the host was short pointed me to the tablet to reserve the table, which I didnāt, see said sorry and they still rolled their eyes at me. Waited twenty minutes, during which I saw the host being short with others who walked in and there was no place to sit (that or stand out in the front with no shade cover to be in the sun). Finally seated after a seventeen minute wait, and would you know that we had to wait another ten minutes before the waitress showed up, and who blamed the wait on a large dinner party. Me and my friend didnāt see her anywhere on the floor during that time she claimed to be busy. Food was good as always and so was the drinks, which was brought out by someone else, but that was the end of the I interaction with our waitress, she was gone saw her serve two other tables while the place was packed and then she never stopped back by. Our waitress seemed to not care when she passed by and out plates were done and clear and glasses were empty, and after we made eye contact she grabbed a pitcher to fill out glass of water which I stopped her and just asked for the check and insisted on paying it at that moment. The bill was 74.61$, I gave a 100$ā¦. She brought me back a 10,5, and 5 singles⦠yeah it wasnāt even worth my time to complain to management that their staff basically decided to tip their selfs. So they donāt have waiting, or service, or host well⦠not to mention they canāt have the decency not to take from you.. I do not recommend this location. I havenāt been to kabuki in a minute so I donāt know how the other locations fair but I am not going back. I donāt need an apology or anything from them, this is just a warning for others who value their time, dinning experience, and the correct...
