The Keg was a great restaurant to celebrate a special event!
My wife & I went to ‘The Keg’ to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The reason why chose this restaurant was actually due to seeing it on ads while watching NHL games that take place in Canada. We always joked about it & we decided to take the next step to try it out after years of seeing it. If anything, we were surprised to see a location in Arizona.
When we arrived, we were greeted by their staff. They congratulated us on our wedding anniversary, which was nice of them to do. I recommend having a reservation as there can be a wait. We waited about 5-7 minutes with a reservation. The groups who arrived without a reservation waited much longer.
When we were seated, we were asked if we were celebrating any special occasion. The funny thing was that we were asked that same question by 3 other staff members over the night. We could tell that this is the type of restaurant that many go to for a special occasion.
Our server, Noah, was great. He was attentive & helped us guide through the menu. It happened to be ‘Arizona Restaurant Week’ when we dined in, so we decided to take up their offer on the 3 course meal. We both got Caesar salads to start & they were delicious. The fresh bread that was brought to the table was incredible. I could have eaten 2 more loafs myself. The whipped butter paired well. I decided to try the blueberry lemonade. It was refreshing, but it is a bit sweet. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a tart drink.
The main entire that I ordered was the prime rib with a twice baked potato. The twice baked potato was tasty & paired well with the prime rib. I thought my prime rib was excellent. I ordered it medium rare & it was spot on. My wife ordered a sirloin with blue cheese & roasted vegetables. She enjoyed her meal as well. The only thing I would say is that the actual plating of the meal was a bit messy. It was all over the place & for the price of the meal, it looks sloppy. I personally do not mind as long as the flavor is there, but I know many would be upset over that.
We both had desserts & I personally loved the sauce on the cheesecake. We thought ‘Billy Miner Pie’ was the star of the desserts. The fireside old fashioned was good. It’s really sweet, but that’s to be expected.
We learned that if you go there for an anniversary, they’ll provide you with a free toast of champagne. This was a great perk. The champagne was solid. We really appreciated that.
Overall, we really enjoyed ‘The Keg’. It was about $75 per person, but we thought it was worth the price for a special occasion. The staff were great & welcoming. We recommend stopping in if you are looking to celebrate a...
Read moreMy Wife and I decided on the Keg for our weekend dinner date as we’d not visited this location in a very, very long time, as our most visited Keg is in Chandler, and honestly while at the Tempe Marketplace, I was in the mood for an old-fashioned, good, tasty, juicy, big-city, fancy and well-prepared chunk of medium-rare beef! We’ve been visiting the Keg for years, one of the best National (actually International) steakhouses around. We do have to thank British Columbia for its being founded in 1971 North Vancouver. This is one of those ‘ay’ thank you moments. We stopped at the bar before our reservation time and began by enjoying beverages with my wife requesting a tasty Orange Slice Martini with Absolut mandarin, triple sec, orange, lemon, and soda and I having my favorite Martini, Grey Goose, extra dry with two olives and two onions (perfectly done, except the cocktail onions were sweet, that’s a no-no). As usual, from the outstanding fresh baked table bread to dessert, the menu items decided on were remarkable. I knew what I was here for and decided to pig out on an order of their always terrific and perfectly prepared Lobster Bisque, with a magnificent rendering of butter, just the right amount of onion and celery in a creamy potage – and I remembered from our last visit, I had found it short of Sherry, consequently asked our Server Mason, for a tad more and got it. Needless to say, the pies de resistance was the lump Lobster atop that made this Potage fait d'un coulis de crustacés so amazing. And my main consisted of my all-time Keg fave, Sirloin Oscar, a 6oz tender medium rare Sirloin garnished with tender and tasty asparagus, capped with excellent crab and over it is the compellingly creamy béarnaise sauce – Wow! My wife’s 7oz medium Filet Mignon Classic with Oscar was equally fascinating. By the time we reached the desert stage, we were well satisfied and delighted, but we weren’t finished until we both shared an extravagant and delicious serving of their Chocolate Cake! As I’ve said in the past, our regular visits continue to be super enjoyable. Keep up the terrific work guys. Your attention to detail, hospitality and great food – especially but not limited to steaks is to be commended....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Keg Steakhouse and felt compelled to share my outstanding experience. From the moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, it was evident that we were in for a treat. The ambiance was charming, and the staff greeted us warmly, setting the stage for a memorable evening.
One word to describe the food: fabulous! I opted for the pistachio-crusted salmon, accompanied by Brussels sprouts and a Caesar salad, while my friend indulged in their highly recommended NY strip with Keg fries. We were both blown away by the quality and taste of our meals. I must say the salmon was nothing short of perfection – the crust was delightfully crispy, while the fish remained incredibly moist and tender. As for my friend's NY strip, he practically inhaled it, and it's not hard to understand why. The blend of flavors and the tenderness of the meat left us wanting more.
To top off our already exceptional meal, we decided to indulge in their crème brûlée. It was truly fantastic! The rich and creamy texture coupled with the perfectly caramelized sugar topping made for a delectable ending to our dining experience.
Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was also top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and well-informed about the menu, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. Our server made excellent recommendations and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
One aspect that truly impressed me about the Keg Steakhouse is their ability to offer fine dining without breaking the bank. The quality of the food, along with the reasonable prices, makes this restaurant an ideal choice for any occasion. Whether it's a romantic date night, a celebratory birthday dinner, or simply a craving for exceptional food, the Keg...
