We purchased our wedding cake from this bakery. Before selecting them, we considered two other bakeries (Fortune Bakery in San Gabriel, and Amor bakery in Rosemead). We ultimately chose Olympic based on the cake price, taste, and location of the bakery.
Due to time constraints, we only sampled cakes from Olympic and Amor bakery, we found Olympic to be more flavorful. Fortune bakery actually had more cake flavors to choose from, and we really wanted to try theirs, but because the location of the bakery was quite a bit further we decided not to consider them.
The people at Olympic bakery were friendly to work with, but I think the guy who actually make the wedding cakes only speaks Chinese (my husband did all of the coordination because my Chinese is too poor). Thankfully, we were very pleased with the results. We ordered a 3-tier cake for an estimated 150 people. All three layers were white cake. The top two layers had strawberry-pineapple filling and the bottom layer had a mango filling.
Regarding the design, we found a design we liked online and texted the photo to one of the workers. We asked them to make a couple adjustments, which they did. We provided the ribbon for the detailing (purchased at Walmart). They matched the icing to the ribbon color.
Delivery fee was $60 cash. They delivered it the morning of the reception. Cake price $290 (card accepted), total $350.
Overall we were very pleased with their service! Our only regret was that we felt we ordered too much. We had less guests than we estimated and the restaurant cut the pieces very small, so there was quite a bit of...
Read moreMy mistake for thinking this is similar to Taiwan's famous Olympic Bakery, I was excited and look forward to their stuffs, and that was a mistake. We got a few items, mango cake, mocha cake, cup cakes, veg bun, boro with whipped cream and crushed peanut on it just to name a few. Mango cake was really blend, the cake part doesnt have nice cake smell, tasted like they skimmed on the eggs, not nice and fluffy like most of the Chinese bakery's cake. The mocha was ok, then again the mocha whipped cream's scent pretty much covered the cake taste so i cant tell if the cake part was good or not. The cup cake was blend, my mom said it doesnt even have the nice smell of cake, tasted dry and like they skimmed on the eggs. The boro with whipped cream filling and crushed peanut was really sweet and the boroh bread was really thick, the top of boroh was supposed to be the best part but it wasn't good, also taste like they skimmed on eggs. This really made a mockery to the same named famous Olympic bakery in Taiwan. Shame, I will not buy again and you can be sure that I will tell everyone...
Read moreLovely family business feel! The staff is really nice and the pastries are pretty good! They have a buy x amount, i think 5, get 1 free!
My main dig here though is the boba milk tea! It's frustrating to see a menu of 40 different milk teas at all these popular spot. From what I see from Olympic they only have a choice of milk tea and Thai tea! I'm a bit nostalgic and "back in my day" those were pretty much the only options. Icing on this cake (pun completely intended), I tried the the regular milk tea with boba and it was a blast from the past! Tasted amazing like the way they use to make it in the late 90s! I highly recommend it!
Also, boba was super affordable compared to competitors
