Atmosphere: The café offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with modern décor and comfortable seating that makes it the perfect spot for indulging in a delicious dessert. The friendly staff adds to the pleasant experience, ensuring you're well taken care of from the moment you step in.
Presentation: The Chocolate and Lotus Gelato Waffle is a visual feast. The waffle, perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, is topped with a generous scoop of rich, creamy chocolate gelato. Crumbled Lotus Biscoff biscuits are sprinkled over the top, adding a delightful crunch and a hint of caramelized spice. A drizzle of chocolate sauce and a dusting of powdered sugar complete the presentation, making it almost too beautiful to eat.
Taste: The first bite is pure bliss. The waffle is light and fluffy on the inside, with a perfect balance of sweetness. The chocolate gelato is smooth and decadent, with an intense cocoa flavor that pairs wonderfully with the waffle. The Lotus Biscoff crumbles add a unique texture and flavor, with their signature spiced caramel taste complementing the chocolate perfectly. Each bite offers a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that make it an unforgettable dessert experience.

Read moreTucked away with its charmingly warm vibe, Melt n Dip offers a unique blend of indulgence and tradition. During my recent visit, I sampled their Turkish coffee while my daughter enjoyed a scoop of vanilla gelato — both left us impressed.
The Turkish coffee here is prepared using the traditional hot sand method, a brewing technique that ensures slow, even heating and delivers a strong, aromatic, and richly layered cup. The coffee arrived in a beautifully presented cup, accompanied by a Lotus Biscoff biscuit — a thoughtful pairing that enhanced the overall experience. The thick crema on top was perfect, signaling both authenticity and care in preparation. Every sip carried that bold, slightly earthy depth that makes Turkish coffee so distinctive.
My daughter’s vanilla gelato was smooth, creamy, and refreshingly light — not overly sweet, but indulgent enough to satisfy. It’s clear that the gelato here is made with quality ingredients, offering a clean, satisfying flavor profile.
The café’s interior feels a cut above average, with cozy seating and a warm atmosphere. Watching the staff prepare Turkish coffee in hot sand near a striking chocolate fountain adds to the sense of theater and authenticity. Service was prompt and polite, with attention to detail in presentation.
One point worth noting: the space carried a slightly overpowering scent of room freshener or cleaner. While not unbearable, it detracts from the natural aromas of coffee and chocolate that should dominate a café like this.
Melt n Dip delivers on both taste and presentation. The Turkish coffee is a must-try — brewed the authentic way and packed with flavor. Pair it with their gelato for a well-rounded treat. With just a small tweak in ambience — dialing down the artificial scents — this place could easily elevate itself from a good café to a truly...
Read moreI've visited Melt N Dip locations around the Chicago area. This is why I'm giving only 2 stars as it is inevitable to compare. Unfortunately, our visit to the Tampa location fell incredibly short in comparison to our previous experiences. Prices are pretty much around the same range (if not the exact same) however, the portions you get up north are definitely bigger. So definitely not worth the price for the amount you get. Additionally, the frozen mint lemonade here has nothing on the one from Illinois. Here it was pretty much nasty water down mint juice (not really the frozen consistency) and it had way too much mint. The ones you get up north are always nice and frozen and also have the perfect balance of lemon and mint flavors.
Overall, would recommend someone from an already more established location to come down here and ensure consistency improves. The success of a franchise mainly depends on making sure you get the same product no matter what location you go to. Also, even though you know they make your food fresh upon ordering the wait times here were too long. I always have a little of a wait up north especially when the store is fully packed but here it feels as if there is no sense of urgency among the employees.
When I saw there was a Melt N Dip near me here in Florida I literally ran over there because I absolutely love eating there every time I'm in Illinois. However, after my experience it will be hard for me to want to go back to the Tampa location. There's definitely a lot of room for...
