I was here on Monday night 11/14 to celebrate my birthday and had a terrible experience. After having such a great experience last month (my very first visit since relocating to Temple from Dallas), there was no doubt where I wanted to have my birthday dinner. Upon arrival, much to our surprise the parking lot was full, yet since this was my first and only choice for dinner, we proceeded inside to be advised that it would be a 25-minute wait. We decided to wait at the bar, and ordered drinks. We found it rather odd that the drinks were prepared in the kitchen area rather than within a full bar right in front of us, but went with the flow. After a few minutes we decided to order an appetizer, and were told by the bar employee that because our wait did not exceed 45 minutes that we could not order. We questioned her about this, and she further explained (fumbling through her words) that she would have to come find us within the restaurant to bring the appetizer to us, if our table becomes ready before the appetizer. WHAT??? At this point, I looked around and found the manager, and she stated that the employee was possibly overwhelmed due to being short staffed, but she would get our appetizer ordered. (still no excuse to treat a customer in this manner) At this point we were trying to decide whether to stay or leave, and after quickly deciding to go elsewhere we advised the manager to cancel our order. The bar employee then requested that we pay for our drinks. Mind you, we were still sitting at the bar with our glasses still half full and we were still drinking at this point. My husband responded to her by saying, "yeah, because we were going to run out of here without paying", and she ignored us and proceeded with bringing the tab that we had not even asked for! There was a couple on both sides of us who had arrived minutes after we had sat at the bar, and neither of them were asked to pay up front as they waited for their tables. What a way to celebrate my birthday! To keep her from ruining our evening, we decided to finish our drinks and leave. As we were leaving, we stopped to advise the host to take our name off of the waiting list. She advised us that our table had just become available, yet we told her that we had a bad experience at the bar and were leaving. She apologized and we left...
Read moreWe waited longer than we should’ve and started to walk out but we decided to see if the hostess would eventually show up this year. They were not crowded at all but I knew the other steakhouse would be. Employees kept looking at us at the entrance but no one came over to seat us. I am glad we waited. I’m a patient woman. I enjoy fishing so I get plenty of practice. The hostess needs a better attitude and personality. The waitress Ash was awesome and made up for what the hostess lacked. Ash is one of the best servers we’ve encountered anywhere in a long time…and that’s shameful. The food was well seasoned. My daughter’s steak and lobster tail were on the small side but she said it was delicious including her asparagus that were cooked perfectly so she felt it was worth it. My steak and broccoli were seasoned and cooked nice. They definitely know what a medium steak looks like. Cudos to the cook(s). Again, Ashley was outstanding!!! We DEFINITELY will be returning and hopefully have her as our server again. The bill was almost a hun for the two of us and that’s without dessert but we felt it was worth it. It was so nice my daughter tipped 3% and that’s a lot for that frugal lady. I’m normally the big tipper that she complains about but I was pleasantly surprised today. This visit was nothing like the location in Killeen before they closed down that we swore never to return. I’m glad we waited on the young, slow hostess. An attractive curly haired server wished us good evening as we left. I told my daughter she should’ve asked him for his number lol We enjoyed our meal and the movies afterwards. It was a blessed and pleasant Sunday for us. If you go to this location, ask for Ash. She adds to...
Read moreLove Longhorn but this location in Temple needs a management shake up! Experienced the worst service ever at a Longhorn, Temple there is no excuse! Staff is not well trained. Walked in at 830 pm on Dec 5, no staff seated us just kept walking by. It was not crowded. Just us at the door. Finally we asked if we should just seat ourselves and they gave us a table. When seated they told us they didn't have any clean silverware to give us. It was being washed and wrapped. Really at dinner time you don't have clean silverware? Bad night just getting started. Ordered coffee, they had no half and half creamer. Ordered tortilla soup, they ran out, at 830 pm. We kept having to find our waiter to take our order or get us water. Finally the food came, they brought our appetizers and salads at the same time. They sat the food down and went right back into the kitchen and brought our dinner. I sent it back and told them to make it fresh in 15 mins as they were piling all the food on us at once. Manager was helping deliver food and said they would make it fresh. It wasn't. 🤨 my cousin ate his tough steak because it was sitting on a warmer. My Parmesan chicken dried out and I sent it back. I know what that is supposed to taste like and it was not made fresh and I made it very clear that did not do as agreed by the manager. They Tried to slide it under the table hoping we wouldn't notice or complain. If I'm paying for it, it better be right! Made fresh! I would not recommend this location. People of Temple you should demand better. Your location is a let down to Longhorn. Management I am talking to you in this...
