I was driving back from a vehicle dealer in the area, and the transaction took much longer than I expected. After the futile attempt to complete my purchase, I got hungry. I asked Google to recommend a good Mexican food restaurant local and within 20 miles... up popped Sol De Jalisco. Saw reviews of the place, and more importantly, I saw an immediate video of the interior and food served. The fare looked appetizing, and with belly growling at me angrily, I stopped in for a bite. The sign inside the small entrance said, "Wait to be seated." I complied, and within 10 seconds, a young man greeted me with a smile and a question. Dinner for two, please, I responded, and we were immediately seated at a comfortable booth. He immediately took our drink order and handed us menus. Within seconds, he came back with water, and a minute later, my drink ordered. Nice atmosphere with plenty of locals laughing and smiling, kids running around with parents shushing them. Nice place. We looked over the menu and found their carne asada burrito on the menu. A dish any self respecting Mexican restaurant should be able to reproduce without delay. But the delay came from our server. After about 15 minutes, my guest shouted for help. Immediately, Edwin came from the shadows and took our order. Within 3 minutes, our food was right in front of us! Wow!
The carne asada burrito was not carne asada, but the tacos she ordered were great. The salsa, not.
This can be a really great place to get food and drinks to your ultimate satisfaction, but they close at 10 pm, and the party must end. You can't drink all night and party till morning. I can definitely see me recommending them for early or late dinner. Just be mindful of the...
Read moreI attended a birthday celebration here last night and it was going well. The patio ambience is nice and I believe the friends and family who showed up had a good time as far as I can tell. Our waitress was prompt, as each person showed up she was there to take your drink order so, eventually we began to place food orders. At my table I actually ordered first nothing over the top just a half order of Mega Nachos, the other two ladies at the table followed. As we wait for our food your establishment began to play Hispanic music, which is normal, yet loudly. So loud that we noticed we were actually yelling to hear each other. So when the waitress comes out with plates, she starts handing them out. She gives my friend nachos, it takes time to prepare food so I don’t remember what she ordered until she brings me the wrong plate after returning the kitchen to retrieve it. I state “this isn’t what I ordered” she looks at me. I said I had nachos, by now my friend has added sour cream and guacamole on a nacho and is about to place one in her mouth. I requested she bring me a fresh order of nachos and she states she would have to charge me for two!! By now my friend was like I didn’t touch it, so in order to not make a seen I took the plate. IF you gonna have one server @ a group party she needs to write the orders down so she can remember who ordered what. It’s not like she took the orders and someone else handed them out. Also, her telling me she shouted the order out doesn’t negate her inability to remember if I can’t hear her announcement due too the loud music. I prefer NOT to have anyone breathing and talking over my food before I consume it. Very disappointed, 7.99 plus tax wouldn’t bankrupted your...
Read moreCarnitas was awful. So greasy and with fishy taste, gagged and almost 🤢 vomited as soon as food hit my tongue. Server was super slow, probably fairly new. Forgot order and had to ask three times, probably fairly new but, also did not write order down and trusted all on memory. What can I say about the drinks but that they were not natural(especially that it was "Mexican" restaurant), the horchata was horrible (from a bag) and the limeade was also powder from a bag and did not even have a single slice of lime in the cup plus had a fluorescent green color to it. To top it off...server NEVER came back to allow me to order something else after the carnitas were taken away. Chips, salsa, cheese and green salsa were GREAT! Stingy with the napkins though. Upon paying our check to the "young manager" and shared our bad food experience, she told us she had the very same dish for lunch earlier in the day and was very satisfied and so she couldn't believe our dish could have tasted bad. I keep telling myself "I should've just stayed home!" My worst food experience at any Mexican...
