Scotties of Powell — Restaurant in Tennessee

Not only do they have great always fresh and prepared correctly which is hard to come by nowadays may I add. Their hospitality and love of their customers is unmatched! My husband went to get our son his favorite mini burgers and fries at Scotties this evening. After a very long day this morning our son woke up and had a seizure, he has epilepsy. He always feels so lousy the next couple days. He told us at about 6:30 he was hungry. They not only stayed open a few extra minutes and made sure he got the food he wanted. They then informed him we didn't owe them a thing. When I tell you that meant so much. That is almost impossible to find anymore. Not the free food but the compassion, the small hometown feel, look out for your neighbor. I am so proud to be from our little town and thankful for all of the sweet souls that keep that place running! We appreciate you! Thank you all for the hard work and dedication you have to your community...

Scotties is an anachronism and it has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years. I joined the military 13 years ago, and have been away from East Tennessee ever since. I visit occasionally and I always love going to Scotties and it has never disappointed. My dad used to take me here every weekend when I was a little kid. He would read his newspaper at the counter, hand me some cash for the jukebox and order us a bunch of little cheeseburger sliders. They only accept cash as a means of keeping costs down and it works. My sister and I went recent and both of us got full meals for breakfast and i asked her if $20 would cover it as it was all I had in cash. She laughed and the bill came out to $9 total, for both of us. I can't recommend this place enough and it warms my soul to see that they are still up and running and making great affordable food for hungry East...

So far so good. I told my husband that I wanted us to come here in the near future.

I ordered 2 eggs over medium, toast, fried potatoes with onion and 1 french toast) with cinnamon and sugar) with coffee.

The coffee was good (JFG) but they had Coffee mate by Nestle instead of half/half. It does give a different taste to the coffee.

The food overall was DELICIOUS! I'm not complaining except to say next time I'm ordering double fried potatoes. They reminded me of my childhood and early adulthood.

Unless you do take out expect to wait. But the food was worth it. Compliments to the chef. Even the bill cost less than at Waffle House for 2 people.

Next time we come here I'm having dinner.

I'm giving a well deserved 5 star!

Oh, and it's CASH. Must be the reasot for...
