On a bit of a whim, we decided to give this place a try and found it to be a good place for a bite. Thank you for reading and see the breakdown below!
FOOD: We ordered a classic burger ๐ (lettuce, mayo, pickles, cheese) and the fish and chips. Surprisingly, the fish far outshined the burger by a decent margin. ๐๐ป -The burger ๐ was good, but to have โBurgerโ in the name, youโd expect a phenomenal showing, buuuuut it was really just OK. Burger was a bit dry and had some seasoning in the meat that were a little different. Certainly NOT bad, by any means, but Iโve had better burgers from non-burger restaurants (Aubreyโs, Roadhouse, Mooyaโs, 5 Dudes, etc.). -Now the fish ๐, WHOLE โnother story. Probably the BEST fish Iโve had in a long, long time, even from the bigger restaurants. I like fish, but not fishy tasting (or slimy ๐๐คข) fish. The fish was really really good!! I would definitely go back for the fish ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ปand probably not a burger. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ -Fries๐ were good and onion rings were good, not big batter dipped or an anything, but still good. -Portion sizes were SUBSTANTIAL!! ๐ณ The fish and chips were three LARGE pieces and fries AND onion rings (instead of slaw).๐๐ป๐๐ป
SERVICE: When getting in, it was a bit confusing on whether you sit yourself or wait, and there were several workers busily working and it took a minute or 3 to even get recognized. Then after seating ourselves, it took about 6-9 minutes before anyone even came to the table. Another few minutes and we would have been out. Restaurant was not full either, so the start was a little off-putting, but after we officially had a waitress, service was good. Food was served promptly after ordering, and we didnโt have to ask for refills or a check, so the end was MUCH bette than the start! ๐ซฅ๐๐ซ ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
PRICE: Given the quantity of food, the price was reasonable. Maybe a โtadโ on the high side, BUT we have leftovers. Roughly $50 for two meals, and drinks (Coke & Tea), including tip.
ATMOSPHERE: It was clean and several high tables around the walls with other, regular tables inside of those. Music and TVโs werenโt blaring, so that was good. ๐๐ป
OVERALL (& MISC): Probably would go back, most definitely for the fish for sure.๐ Parking is pretty limited and we went at a very odd time (3 PMโish). Getting in and out of the lot ๐ is a bit awkward, but it works....
ย ย ย Read more3 star Update The owner has reached out to me to personally appologize. He says new high chairs should be arriving at the restarant this week. We will be going back again to make sure the high chairs are repaired and properly working. Will update to 5 stars once we confirm repairs are made.
Origianl 1 star review: Went here for mother's day today with my family, including my 15 month old who needed a high chair. They gave me a broken high chair that was so broken he could have slid out and gotten seriously hurt (the clip was broken to fasten him in and the strap between his legs was broken allowing him to slide out the front). I brought it to a server's attention and they proceeded to bring me ANOTHER broken high chair. I informed them that high chair was also unsafe. They offered me a THIRD broken high chair. Finally, they brought me a high chair from outside that had all it's functioning parts. It had been rained on so, although they dried it off, the straps were still very wet, providing an uncomfortable wet seat for my child.
That was not the end of our poor service. They brought out an incorrect order for my food (I specified no onion rings on a burger that comes with onion rings and specified I wanted fries as a side instead. They brought a double order of onion rings, no fries). We had to ask for refills on my step father's water. We also had to ask for drink refills on our soda. When an employee came by to ask how our meal was, I explained to her the issues we had with the food and looking at my plate that finally had fries on it, she said "Were they able to fix it?" instead of using her own two eyes to see that I had fries now instead of onion rings.
This is our 4th time visiting this restaurant in the last year and this was the worst service we have ever had. It was not busy. There was no obvious cause of the poor service and poorly kept high chairs except laziness and lack of...
ย ย ย Read moreMy husband and I went to The Burgers for dinner after having heard a lot of good reviews for it. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer, he order a BBQ cheddar burger with fries and I a fried chicken sandwich with a chipotle ranch sauce that I was told wasn't very spicy (I have a medical condition that can get triggered by spicy or acidic foods). The onion rings came out quickly, which was a plus, but they were bland and the breading was weird. We ate about half of them but decided not to finish them.
Then our entrees came out. My husband's burger was ordered medium (they asked for his temperature preference) and it came out well done and tasteless. There was no seasoning at all. My chicken sandwich was better than his burger. We also received HUGE servings of fries which seemed to be cut in house, but they were bland as well and there's no salt or pepper on the tables. The best part of the meal was the banana pudding, but beware that there is cinnamon in the dish for those who are allergic. Our server was great as well.
Overall, however, I wasn't impressed and neither was my husband. Neither of us finished the appetizer or our entree, and considering that main courses start at $10 and start going up from there, it definitely wasn't a great experience. They didn't do anything terrible, they just didn't do anything great to warrant a...
