Had high hopes and itāstarted off well with first bartender but sadly second one dropped the ball. Irish Pubs, all you need is good service and decent food and drink. They miss on service.Guinness was good for the area and food was decent. Forgot part of my order, stuff happens, but they were not at all apologetic and looked flustered / annoyed about me asking for it. Brought it out and it was pure white bacon so either all fat or over cooked. A good kitchen or server would have caught that. Then they accidentally charged me for someone elseās bill, rather than be upfront and say sorry they played it off like it was a glitch, just said we had to adjust your bill great discount for you and sorry, keep this receipt for the bank. I thought it was to adjust for the nasty bacon I sent back until I saw the accident wasnāt for a discount. They charged double me 70 dollar tab for someone else. A forty dollar meal tied up 130 dollars. Not apologetic, sneaky with attitude. Grew up and worked in Irish bars in Boston and Ireland, disappointed with the service place. Maybe an off night. Maybe a bad employee. Owner shoulda stepped in since he had to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur group of seven visited last night. We had a wonderful time! The host and hostess were friendly and welcoming, and our server and helpers were helpful, delightful, and efficient. We were given a generous basket of rolls and scones to start. The scones were quite tasty--we took the leftovers home and enjoyed them the next morning. We ordered an appetizer Scotch Egg--it was large and cut in four pieces to share. It had a tasty coating of sausage/stuffing. Three of us ordered the Shepherd's Pie (Delicious! Highly recommend!)--it had lots of beef, potatoes, and gravy, and the peas and carrots were perfectly cooked--still firm, not mushy. It was a generous portion, and two of us had plenty for leftovers. My husband had the Chicken Pot Pie--piled high with pastry, then the pastry was split and the savory chicken and gravy poured over it and the potatoes. It filled the plate! (But he did not have leftovers!) The others enjoyed the Bangers & Mash, Irish Reuben, and special Swordfish steak. As an Irish American, I so enjoy an Irish Pub, and this one did not disappoint. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisiting from NC my daughter and family took me here at 12/27/23 @6:30pm. Had a great time. Easy parking. Atmosphere was festive and clean. We had my 16 month old granddaughter and she loved our waitress. Waitress was wonderful and friendly. Haven't had a Black & Tan in long time and it was delicious, served at proper temperature. Food was outstanding. I had the chicken pot pie which was served very differently from what I expected. Waitress spooned it onto my plate and it was fabulous with large tender chunks of tender white meat, ample fresh peas, carrots and creamy base. Daughter enjoyed her Fish and Chips (steak fries), her husband and my grandson had large juicy bacon burgers cooked to order. Cost was about $100+ for the 4 of us and it was worth every penny. Would LOVE to visit here on St....
