We've lived here an entire year from Los Angeles and just tried Babo's for the first time today. IT WAS SO GOOD, I'm just sad we didn't make it here sooner!
Our server was Stevie, and she seemed really happy to have first- time customers! She was extremely attentive, informative, and seemed genuinely into us having a great experience. She knew the menu in and out. She knew what makes Babo's special, and made sure to highlight those cultural gems!
The food was absolutely delicious! And so filling!! I really wanted dessert, but we over ate a it was. (The loaded fries are INSANE!) The next time we go, we definitely intend to try some of the more Mediterranean dishes. But even being in Terre Haute, our experience has been a lack of culture in the food... no spice, bland... "white people food." Not at Babo's!! I'm sure you can find something to please anyone's palette, but I promise you, they do not skimp on flavor!
I've mentioned how amazing Stevie, our waitress was, but that genuine hospitality was ample throughout our entire dining experience; the owner came to our table and had a lovely conversation with us; every worker we passed either greeted us, wished us well on our way, or made sure we enjoyed our experience; and lastly, having a son with autism, he is a very picky eater. He ordered bacon "soft cooked, but not raw. Not pink. Not crispy." Stevie let the cook know and said his response was, "got it!" And they brought out the perfect side of bacon, autism approved!
The prices are reasonable, the people friendly, the atmosphere charming, and the food INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend this establishment and I will definitely be coming back!!

Read moreOne word? INCREDIBLE. Many words? Strap in, we're going on a journey. This place is the epitome of comfort. Locally-owned and family operated, it's guaranteed that at least one element of your visit will have their personal touch. Biggest recommendation? Talk to your server! They're the pros after all, they know the menu and the specials and will guide you to that perfect choice. Not to worry though, if you're anything like me, you'll be back soon to try the other options that made it hard to decide. One big element that stood out to me was the amount of homemade sauces accompanying the menu that promises to have something for everyone. Started with the cabbage soup. I was unsure about it, not going to lie, but it was SOO good and the perfect starter. For dinner, Mom got the Atomic burger and fries while I went with the Falafel pita wrap. The Falafel was MASSIVE and that tzatziki sauce? Just order extra, save yourself some time. Mom loved her burger. Folks, this burger had STRENGTH. Other burgers you can still talk while you chew. Not this bad boy. All you'll manage is "mmmm mmm mmmmm" Had to save room for the Bosnian coffee and a piece of Baklava. The Bosnian coffee was the perfect finish to the night, ask your server how to do it the right way ;)) Can't recommend enough, ...
Read moreOn our way through and needed breakfast. Place doesn’t look like a restaurant much from the front. However, like the parking, the entrance is in the back! With a few outdoor tables to boot!
Super cute inside with a mix of booths and tables. We sat where we wanted, as directed, which landed us in the section of a younger-looking waitress who was ON IT. She kept my coffee filled, while being friendly and helpful.
I got a skillet-hash browns on the bottom and my choice of fillings and eggs on top. The hash browns were perfect, not a single burnt one, along with the eggs. Tons of meat and veggies too. I was stuffed and took half w me! Crazy! The spouse had the Babo’s Stack-fresh biscuits with eggs, meat, hash browns on top, SMOTHERED in sausage gravy. Although usually super picky about his biscuits and gravy which leads to complaints, he declared these to be really good! Tons of food!
The best part? The price. The price was right and we ate like kings! I can’t believe this place wasn’t more crowded. I’m assuming it must be kind of new? Otherwise, what is everyone waiting for?? I give it an EASY 5 stars and plan to go back on my way back...
