Meadows Banquet & Conference — Attraction in Terre Haute

I was very DISAPPOINTED with my daughter's wedding reception!! We received sooooo many complaints from our guests and unfortunately it caused my daughter and new son in law's night to end VERY EARLY!! For starters the minute we arrived following the wedding the room was very warm and obviously with the amount of bodies and the warm food it continued to get warmer! We had several complaints from guests and when there was not relief the guests began to leave. I spoke with a few workers and finally with the manager. He was not sympathetic in the least. After checking the thermostat he informed me that we must have had a guest that turned up the air conditioner which caused it to freeze up. I told him it had ruined my daughter's evening and he said there was nothing he could do about it and walked away from me abruptly! The grooms mother and the bride had also talked to a few workers in there to see if they could do anything and they were both told the air conditioners had been having problems for the last several days and they had a repair man out there last week!!! I think we should have been notified about this as well as the venue having corrective measures in place such as large fans so the guest were not miserable! At one point it was 85 degrees in that room!!! This is not acceptable!! The reception was to go till 10 p and then clean up and out by 11p. We were cleaned up and gone by 845!!! Another complaint i had was on the bar. Your drink price list said can of pop for $2. The bartender was pouring the can into a FULL glass of ice which would only take half the can and refusing to give the rest of the can to the customer. Instead she was using the same can for the next persons drink! That was more like $4 a can of pop! She also was using open cans to make mixed drinks and i was told this was making the drinks taste flat. And at one point she changed her mixed drink price to a $1 higher than what it had been! Due to the heat people were drinking alot and since the bar became overwhelmingly expensive this was another reason people left and took other guests to nearby bars! When the staff began to see people leave they started clearing tables, even if there was still people sitting at the table!! If that's not a "please leave" statement then I don't know what it was!! I have contacted corporate but they are unsympathetic so I will let this review be a warning for all future events.....buyer beware!!!! This is a night my daughter and son in law will...

Overall terrible experience with my sister in laws wedding here. The room was almost 90 degrees and when confronted about it staff did nothing to help and got very rude. They claimed it wouldn’t get any colder and that nothing could be done about it, resulting in most of the guests leaving 2 hours before it was set to end. The bartender was terribly rude, and as the temperature rose in the venue, so did her drink prices. She served a third of a can of coke for $2 and tried to increase the ridiculous price as the night went on. Staff was trying to strip the venue as guests were still there, removing the decorations and table linens. I also would not recommend...

Horrible experience, AC was broken when the people who rented the room asked why it was so hot 85 degrees to be exact they said the AC was broken and was worked on 2 days ago. Ac unit was frozen over and unable to cool the room! Reception was suppose to last until 10pm and everyone left at 8am because it was so hot in the room. Very disappointed and when trying to talk to management he was very rude and not helpful. Not sure I will ever attend another event there...
