First Wok — Restaurant in Terre Haute

I wanted to give zero stars but one star is the lowest it would allow... wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy in the world qw They are rude at this place not the friendly like the First Wok in Indy on Zionsville Road and W 75st Unlike the Indy restaurant w restaurant I've and others have witnessed on multiple occasions the qa will picks up an entire tray of vegetable and or seafood off the floor back on to tray instead of tossing it into the trash like most reputable restaurants would have done! What's almost as outrageous as that is it currently 2016 this place still refuses to accept credit or debit cards as a form of payment they assume that everyone still carries cash as their primary form of payment! Their table are sticky and there seems to be flies always buzzing around the dinning room area, year round, regardless of the season which leads me to believe that this place needs a serious cleaning and I'm seriously surprised that the state Health Department hasn't closed this restaurant down like it has some of the other restaurants here in...

My wife and I have eaten at First Wok for over 28 years. Until recently, it was the best Chinese food in Terre Haute. They appear to have recently changed hands. I picked up a General Tso's lunch special, extra spicy, and with pork fried rice a little over a week ago. The rice had no pork in it at all, and had a very unpleasant taste. The General Tso's chicken tasted OK, but it had a slightly odd taste as well. It also wasn't extra spicy as I ordered. The General Tso's use to come with the special dipping sauce, but I guess not anymore. The lunch specials have also went up in price, about $2.00 for what I ordered. I realize with new ownership, comes new changes, but in my opinion, none of them are good. I doubt seriously we ever eat...

One of Terre Haute's little known gems, this hole-in-the-wall has the best General Tso Chicken that you will find anywhere. They are the only place I have ever been that uses white-meat chicken in their General Tso. The large size comes with broccoli but they will add broccoli to a small if you request it. The breading is light and crispy and the sauce is to die for. The large is big enough for two adults. The chicken in garlic sauce is also good, but the rest of their dishes that I've tried (cashew chicken, beef and broccoli) are mediocre. They only accept cash.
