Royal Mandarin Express — Restaurant in Terre Haute

The manager came up to me(older lady) when I asked for my order to be remade because it was overcooked or chicken had been sitting awhile. I had in my napkin the first 4 pieces I tried to eat and were overcooked in the inside so she could see for her self how hard it was. The manager said “what do you you think we do pick pieces of chicken randomly and then place it on your plate…there is nothing wrong with it.” Then she says “ what do you want me to do?.. I stated “I want it fresh as I said in the beginning when I ordered.” She storms away and yells at the whole kitchen beginning to throw utensils around speaking in her native tongue. Two people poke their head out of the kitchen staring at me. At this point I didn’t feel safe to eat or safe at all. I then told the cashier to please give me a refund instead and then she yells and says “ Now she wants a refund. Well give it to her then and take her food now.” She represents her business being the owner. She was extremely disrespectful, lacked professionalism, used vulgar language, made me feel unwelcome and she was without limits or apologies. The food was also overcooked. Called to place an delivery order after taking a look at the menu online... the price they told me was completely different from online... what I ordered (according to online) should have been about $18.00 plus tax. They quoted me the same order $27.00. As, a sensible person I understand that sometimes the price changes and the website might not have been current, But the worst part was that, even though this was my first time ordering the the attitude of the manager was unapologetic and just told me the website made a mistake and she would not charge me what she use to charge two years ago and unwill to even compensate for somethimg that had nothing to do with me.. needless to say they didn't get my business and if I having anything to do with it none of my family or friends either ... they were very unappreciative of my intended business and don't know the value...

Royal Mandarin Express is hands down the BEST Chinese restaurant around! The food is always fresh and flavorful, and I can’t get enough of their crab rangoons — perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with delicious filling. The string beans are also incredible, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, which makes the whole dining experience even better. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the owner is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet — you can tell she truly cares about her customers.
