We were first treated on by a redheaded waitress who I hope was just having a bad day. We ordered and were brought some very cold beers. This is an “oyster bar” right. We ordered the Trio, a burger and fish. The oysters arrived looking great. I tried the sauce on one, because it took me many years to get my wife to eat oysters, I never want her to have a bad experience. The sauce was definitely spoiled. So, those 2 were going back. I ate a Rockefeller and she ate an Angel. Big mistake. I should have eaten mine first. She gagged and spit it out, I chewed twice and spit mine out. Of the thousands of oysters I’ve eaten, these were probably the worst. I’m not sure she will ever eat another one. The blond waitress was delightful. The highlight of our visit. She took them away.
This place serves raw oysters (and nasty ones at that) and won’t cook a burger less than well done? Yeah, that makes sense. Upon request to do their best, it managed to come out “medium “. And it wasn’t bad. Not great, but ok. The fish was perfectly cooked and not fishy at all. As others have said, it needs some spice. A bit of salt and pepper helped. The fries were limp and greasy. That needs some work. Would we...
Read moreThis place is a good dive bar. They have a variety of options on the menu. I ordered the shrimp pasta. Unfortunately, it took almost an hour because the first plate was burnt according to my waiter. I didn't see it. He asked if I still wanted the shrimp pasta. He would have it remade. Aside from that the service wasn't very good. I never got a refill on my drink and he didn't come back to see if I needed anything or if the food was good. Fortunately the food was very good. I'll give this place another chance someday. I'll try the oysters. I've been here several times now. Everything I've had here has been very good, from burgers to oysters to quesadillas. Went last night with a friend, she ordered the cheeseburger, took one bite and never touched it again. She said it was too dry. She didn't want to complain, so, I told the waitress and she took it off the bill. I've had the burger there in the past and thought it was alright. Maybe the cook...
Read moreWe are from Southeastern Arizona, visiting our son and fiancé in Nacogdoches TX. We made a quick trip over to have lunch here, and get our Arkansas souvenir for geocaching. Had lunch and tried several of the local foods. Hubby ordered gator bites and chicken pasta. We had the eggrolls, and catfish and rice and beans. Yum! Amanda was our server and was so bubbly and personable. A few of the locals came over to chat and everyone was super welcoming and friendly. Probably the friendliest restaurant we’ve ever eaten at, and we travel for work away from home 7 months of the year. We would recommend everything about this place. Great people-Great food,...
