Let me start by saying I cannot rate the food here because I did not get to eat anything. Here's why: When you walk in, you see tables. No sign that says wait to be seated or anything of the like. I chose a table and took a seat. A server finally came by and asked if I ordered at the register. No, I had not. (The establishment did not seem like a fast food type restaurant so it did not cross my mind to go to the back of the dining area and order.) The server asked what I wanted to drink and brought it along with a menu. Over 20 minutes later, I still hadn't had my order taken. After my server cleaned a table next to mine, I was done waiting and out of time for lunch. I went to the register to pay for my drink and it was at that point she wanted to take my order.
If I decide to give this restaurant another try, I now know to go to the register in the back and place my order. Not sure if you wait to get your food then sit or sit and they bring it to you. If this is your first visit, don't be like me and expect service.

Read moreOrdered a 21.00 chocolate pie from here. Was supposed to pick it up @ 1 but couldn't get there til 3. Picked my pie up took it to our function but by the time we were to eat, most of the meringue was gone. Mostly chocolate and crust. Nobody ate it. I called back the next morning to ask what happen? I didn't understand. They have pies out & their meringues are still on the pies. Don't recall the young ladies name but she basically blamed me for the reason the meringue disappeared. 1st was I said I was picking it up @ 1 & didn't get there til 3. Then it was I don't know what you did to it but our pies are always good. I agree but I kinda had a attitude until another lady called me back. She knew what happend. Someone put my pie in a closed box while the pie was still hot. Don't know who. Although she made it right and gave us another one, I still didn't appreciate the young lady for blaming me for messing up the 1st pie & there was no one to eat the 2nd one so it's still in the fridge. More orders to come. I'll let you know how...
Read moreY'all. We road tripped from Houston to Hot Springs for a little Christmas getaway and happened upon Texarkana around lunch time. Obviously, we had to find a local joint to stop, stretch the old legs and grab a bite to eat.
With all the commercial spots in Houston, we wanted an old fashioned greasy, delicious burger...and Old Tyme Burger Shoppe did NOT disappoint!
Freaking delicious burger, just the perfect size, with the "spicy" fries. Old school seasoned fries that were fantastic down to the last crunchy piece.
Listen, IDC if you aren't from around there, drive to Texarkana and hit this place up right now. All homemade, all delicious, and their pies will make you want to punch someone in the eye for even looking your way.
Solid 10/10,...
