Louie's Corner Bar — Restaurant in Texas Charter Township

After hearing about the onion rings, I decided to give them a try. I ordered 5 meals and a basket of onion rings for takeout at 6:08pm and was given an estimation of 50 minutes, more leaning towards an hour. Got there at 7:13pm and was told the kitchen was behind so it'll be another 5 minutes.

I took my daughter for a walk outside for about 6 minutes and came back and was told that my food was being boxed up. Ended up getting my food around 7:28pm.

It seemed as though everyone was packed into one side of the restaurant. There were plastic dividers between the tables, but the distance between tables across the aisle was only a few feet, if that. Almost every seat at the bar was filled. I had debated going in earlier to eat with my husband and two children, but I'm glad we did not as the tables were not appropriately distanced.

The staff all wore masks. The woman who helped us with our pickup and the bartender were both incredibly friendly.

Now for the food. I was told the onion basket was 6 onion rings, but I only received 4. No big deal, the onion rings are huge. The only problem was that a few of the rings had sides so crispy they almost cut the sides of my mouth. Other than that, they were really good.

The pulled pork sandwiches were good, but my father-in-law and I wish ours had a bit more meat. My mother-in-law said the Smoky Mountain burger was excellent and she enjoyed the chips. My husband's chicken wrap up was humongous, but he said his chips had no flavor except a slight grease taste. My daughter's cheeseburger was missing cheese, but she liked it.

I think if we had ordered earlier in the day we may have had a better experience. Overall, it looks the place is very popular and the food is quite good. Definitely going to give them another try in the future at an earlier...

We visited on July 3rd. We got the pork rind nachos and they were phenomenal. This would be a 5 star review if I was just rating on the food and no stars if I was reviewing based on our server alone. Food was absolutely delicious, but the server was terrible. I hesitate to say this because I am well aware of the shortage of waitstaff during this pandemic and know they are overwhelmed. There were very few tables occupied at the time we visited. Our server Desiree couldn’t be bothered to answer absolutely any questions regarding the menu. She had a very poor and condescending attitude…like didn’t want to do her job or didn’t know how😕. Not the kind of person I would want representing my business publicly. Not only that, but she asked for our food/drink order approximately every minute after being told several times we needed a few minutes. Seriously, if you are having such a bad day you can’t do your job stay home…or maybe look for employment opportunities where you don’t have to deal with the public. She made me feel so uncomfortable I decided to get our order to go. I still begrudgingly tipped her because times are tough even though I didn’t feel she earned even a wooden nickel. Louie's Trophie House in downtown Kalamazoo is my favorite restaurant in town. They have excellent food and service! I was very excited today when I found a Louie's in Texas Corners while out on the Harley and looking for lunch today.

We walked in and the sign said please seat yourself, so we sat down in a booth. For 5 minutes employees walked by us without acknowledging us. We watch another couple walk in and sit in the booth behind us. They were promptly acknowledged and served drinks. Yet the waitress walked by us again with her blinders on. As she walked by again my deep voiced husband said loudly "I would like to order a beer please."

She turned her head when he said it and looked right at him but kept on walking she didn'teven say a word to back to him! She walked by 2 more times then stopped at the table behind us to grab their food order! At this time we had been sitting in that booth for over 15 minutes without so much as a Hello or smile from the waitress so we got up and left.

We went down to Fletchers Pub were we were immediately greeted and had beer on the table in under 5 minutes this waitress will definitely be getting above the 27% I normally tip!

I will never ever waste my time by stopping by this...
