Growing up in a Mexican family there comes a time when you miss that type of cooking only your mother or grandmother could possibly make. That good old fashioned flavor of a home cooked meal. When I first got to Anthony's, the exterior left much to be desired, the interior was a bit beat up. However, one thing I've learned in nearly 20 years of living in the Houston area is that good food can be found in all sorts of places. Anthony's Mexican restaurant is a familiar taste to all of those who appreciate and love homestyle Mexican cooking. My visit was fantastic. The food smelled amazing and tasted even better. ,, ordered some shrimp enchiladas it said shrimp pieces to be exact food came game with rice and beans and whole shrimp with the shells so I had to peel or the entire shrimp all of them , it came with nothing else just shrimp rice and beans and some onions no pico no nothing I ordered corn tortillas and got flour service was lack thereof could have been much better the service could have made up for the food...

Well I have read the reviews and took a chance. The margaritas are excellent and the food was great. Had the chili rellenos and it was just fine. Yes the restaurant is not a fine restaurant and could use some updating to the interior but the food and drinks are fine. The service of the waitress was impeccable.
