First, we are not locals. We are here on vacation and leaning on social media to find places with a nice vibe. Smokinâ Mirrors stood out to us and we wanted to see what it was about. For a place that is really cute inside the bar staff attitudes didnât match the esthetics at all!!! From the time we walked in the door the customer service was horrible. The main female behind the bar spoke to us as if we owed her something or we had beef from high school. We came in for drinks and food that was advertised on IG as a Thursday night special. We didnât see the menu items anywhere on the menu so we inquired about it with our not so lovely bartender and she spoke to my husband like he was stupid for asking about it. Her patience was nonexistent with our questions and inquiries. We made selections and processed with the night, but of course they took the order and then 10 minutes later there was an issue with supply of the food. The Kitchen staff came to us explaining that they didnât have enough lamb chops so my husband got a steak instead and gave her instructions to make it medium in temperature. 7 minutes later we had a brunt steak platter that was wayyy over cooked and a lamb chop plate with literally two bones and no meat on them. We asked the bartender to take a look at the plate very nicely because it wasnât worth paying even $5 for and she literally told my husband âIâm not arguing with you about it⌠Iâll just take it offâ while rolling her neck and eyes and snatching the plate and his drink off the table. She then had the nerve to make us wait until she was finished her conversation across the room with other staff for us to pay so we can go. Whoever owns Smokin Mirrors please donât let the staff drag your business. Anyone could walk through those doors or have some clout behind their name and yâall will miss an opportunity keeping staff that doesnât contribute to the experience on payroll. This place could have been a vibe but $50 for 1 mixed drink, 1 water and 1 plate at the expense of being treated poorly is wild for the lack of...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place for the first time, but it is cold and raining, so I placed an order through Uber Eats. This nice lady named Jada called me from the restaurant (store #1464) and she was nice enough to tell me one of the items I ordered was already sold out. She offered me a replacement item. I was unfamiliar with the menu, so I had alot of questions. She was very patient with me and gave me a great mix of options to choose from. Itâs a Saturday afternoon and I bet it is so busy there, but she took time to help a new customer. I canât wait until the weather clears up because I am going there and bringing friends to support one weekend! People taking time out to help me is something I never forget. Thank you Jada and the team at store 1464. I am excited to try this food and...
Read moreStopped by to check out their new location because I support local black owned businesses. I would frequently purchase their daiquiris and chips when they were in Richmond. I should've stuck with those 2 items because the food I purchased 3/12/22 was a disappointment. I ordered 1lb of crawfish ($7.99) and the Uptown Platter ($16) in hopes of getting some N'awlins goodness, but only got cheated instead. The crawfish was totally unseasoned and less than 1lb and a mushy mess once peeled. The catfish "filet" was a sliver of a full filet, fries were soft and barely warm, and chicken tenders overcooked. Needless to say, I will stick with the daiquri and chips if I go again and will drive to âLouisiana Famous Fried Chicken &Seafood' for seasoned and filling seafood...
