Drive thru customer. I paid for my food at 3:29pm and didn’t receive it until after 4 PM. After paying for my food, they told me to park in the front and someone would bring my food out. After about 20 minutes of waiting and seeing about 7 other drive thru customers who were behind me receive their food, I first, tried calling the store since the front door was locked, but there was no answer. I then tried knocking on the front door (which, per note on door, was locked due to being short-staffed) to get staff’s attention to let them know I was still waiting for my food and to make sure they didn’t forget about me since a bunch of other customers who arrived AFTER me were receiving their food. All three staff members, including the manager, looked directly at me several times, but no one approached the door to see what I needed! I knocked for about 10 mins and they all just completely IGNORED me, which I felt was extremely RUDE! I understood they were short-staffed- it happens- but all I wanted was an update as to how much longer it would be and to make sure they remembered I was still waiting for my order, but they all just stared at me and ignored me! Since I couldn’t get through on the phone or by knocking on the door, I had no choice but to walk to the drive thru window. Turns out, another customer had to walk to the window too to check on their order. I still couldn’t speak to the staff, but I’m sure they heard me telling the other customer that at this point, I had been waiting for 30mins because she looked through the drive-through window and said she saw a staff member walking to the front door with a bag of food. After an additional 2 minutes, someone finally brought my food out! I don’t write reviews much, but feel I had to because this is ridiculous how I couldn’t even walk in the store or reach someone on the phone to check in on my order, and especially how I had to check in with them since none of them thought to check in with me. And the different means I used to try to contact them, they completely ignored me and I find that very rude and a lack of customer service! All I wanted was an update, even if they were to say it’d be another 5-10 mins for my food and I would’ve understood. I’m a VERY patient and understanding person, but what they did and how rude they were angered me deeply!! Not to mention, my coleslaw was only filled halfway. At first it appeared to be 3/4 full, but then I tapped the container on the counter to settle it and it fell to halfway!! It was a large for the family meal- good thing I’m the only one in my family who likes coleslaw. The 2 stars is only because the chicken...
Read moreThe worst Church's franchise in San Antonio Texas. This churches connected to the Shell gas station it's pathetic because it does not know how to properly cook chicken, it's always burnt, is there any chances that I have given it to properly eat well cooked chicken? And it's always disappoints me that it's burnt so the taste lingers on. They told me that they don't give Senior Citizens Discount anymore because they have new owners. The pieces have got the smaller but the chicken still ends up with a lot of fried batter and burnt. I recommend not to waste your time unless you love burned Fried Chicken if you don't believe me go ahead and waste your money here.
I am from the south side of San Antonio and that's where I will go the extra mile to get properly cooked Church's fried chicken the prices are ridiculous for burned Chicken. In the Southside and Eastside the Church's Fried chicken 🍗 is cooked Perfect with the delicious Juicy flavor dripping and the fries are always good. Ever since I moved from the Southside every Church's Fried chicken stand has closed down because of poor management 🍗 . It's not the chicken it's the management. I just learned my favorite Church's on Alamo and IH-35 by the Arsenal Post Office is closed and the staff had the best employees working there, they always had a great attitude and great personality. Please 🙏 open it up again after you Modernize it and upgrade it. The working Community and families will...

Church’s Chicken isn’t just a fast-food stop — it’s a comfort food experience I keep coming back to. From the very first bite, you know you’re getting real flavor. That signature golden, crispy coating with the perfectly seasoned, juicy chicken underneath? Unmatched. It’s the kind of meal that hits the spot every single time, whether I’m on my lunch break or treating myself after a long day.
Let’s not forget the sides — those honey-butter biscuits are dangerously addictive (I’ve definitely gone back just for those), and the mashed potatoes with gravy are pure soul food. Everything tastes freshly made, and the portions are always generous.
But what really keeps me coming back is the service. Every time I’ve visited, the staff has been friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. It feels good to walk into a place where they remember your face and take pride in the food they serve. You can tell it’s more than just a job — it’s a team that cares.
Now, here’s my pitch: As someone who’s practically a Church’s Chicken regular, a loyal fan who’s introduced at least half a dozen friends to your menu (yes, I’m converting people one biscuit at a time), I’d love to be considered for a gift card from the manager — as a thank-you for all the love I’ve shown to this amazing spot. Trust me, I’ll keep spreading the good word — and ordering...
